Jenieve woke up to the sound of a loud buzzing in her right ear, like a swarm of bees. Her whole body felt as if she was moving heavy boulders the previous day, sore from work she didn't know that she did. She rolled over onto her back, pulling the soft white pillow, which smelled of lavender, off of her head. She looked up at the ceiling watching the blades of her gigantic fan spin. Goosebumps filled her ebony skin, forcing her to pull the orange sheet closer.
The wind wasn't coming from the spinning fan, instead, it was coming from her huge open window that overlooked her front yard. She was puzzled, sure that she closed the window just yesterday but her memory has seemed to be going.
Her dark brown eyes looked out into the distance, gazing at the full moon. There was no form of life to be spotted anywhere, just the tall street lights that flickered from time to time and the loud hoots of the owls. The heavy wind silenced all other sounds and reached its sharp claws after the young girl, locking her in its grasp.
A loud chime from the old clock in the corner of her room, had her head spinning. It was now 3:30 am, a heavy sigh escaped her lips.
'Routine....as always,' She thought. Her Auburn arms pushed her body off of the bed and onto the cold white tiled floors. She made her way towards the open window. She struggled to close them as the wind fought her in her attempts. After a quick war, she finally managed to close them, dropping back onto her orange-covered bed surrounded by beige walls and willed herself to slumber.
It really was routine, this poor girl has been waking up every night since she moved into this house with a loud buzzing in her ears at 3:00 am. She would then stare at her fan until the buzzing stop and fall back to sleep.
However, this night was different. The loud buzzing didn't seize and she couldn't fall asleep, instead, it became louder, unbearably loud. She quickly went to cover her ears with her soft fluffy pillow but a cold bony hand stopped hers. A loud scream rippled through her body, she rolled over to find the culprit but she saw no one.
She quickly sat up in the queen-size bed, looking around the fairly dark room but she didn't see anyone at all.
"I should really get those sleepy pills from the store tomorrow." She mumbled turning over onto her stomach and pulling the pillow over her head.
Whispers, muffled whispers banged against her eardrums, frightening the last drop of sleep she had left."W-what the hell!" She immediately sat up on the bed again, and the whispers stopped.
"Mom!" The young girl didn't want to take any chances but she was crippled with fear and couldnt move from the bed.Her eyes slowly traveled all over the room until a wet sticky substance dropped on top of her shoulders and the whispers echoed tenfold. The buzzing in her ear grew painfully boisterous. Her head took on an ache as her heart thumped loudly in her chest. Her throat took a deep gulp as her brown eyes slowly traveled to what was on the ceiling.
