days had past and it had been rather calm. calum would visit michael sometimes throughout the day, sometimes it would end good and sometimes not so good, but michael was bidding his time, waiting for the perfect moment.

"i need to get rid of the mirror." michael spoke, in a hushed whisper, his head against the phone. he was on the call to luke. ashton was still mad at him and definitely did not want to be involved so he respected that, but he still needed to tell someone. he knew he couldn't do this alone.

"yeah, probably, but how?" luke replied carl my, ruffling at the end of the call and a loud crunch, presumably eating chips.

"im not sure. he's always here. he almost caught me last time." he frowned and looked down at his bruised toe that still hurt whenever he touched it, it throbbing slightly.

"maybe distract him with something, and somehow get someone else to take the mirror."

"you're a genius oh my god." michael grinned at the idea. "be here as soon as you can? okay thanks luke."

"wh-"

and before luke could finish, the call ended. that was perfect.

when luke arrived, he was reluctant going into michaels room. he felt weird, his chest almost closing in on itself. he felt watched and uncomfortable, the air thick and hard to breathe, but he pushed himself through it. it was probably his brain anyway.

he had yet to see any real proof of calum, anyway, and he was probably just psyching himself out. maybe michael was just insane. he had to be. luke was a believer of ghosts but this couldn't be real, could it?

"he hasn't appeared to my parents before now, so maybe you won't be able to see him." michael shrugged, slowly walking through the door frame. "get the mirror." his voice was low and quiet.

luke gulped and lifted up the mirror, hugging it to his chest tightly. he felt the cool glass dress up against his shirt, causing a shiver to ride up his body.

"thanks for letting me borrow your mirror, michael." he spoke loudly, looking around as he slowly backed out of the room, his body feeling damp from cold sweat already.

"you're welcome, luke. bring is back as soon as possible, though." michael spoke equally loudly. they were not good actors at all.

the door slammed shut behind luke. the room ran cold, you could almost see your breathe. the two boys stood in silence, breathing irregular, panting. waiting. luke was frozen. he couldn't move. he dared turn around, scared of what may be leaking.

michael felt a piercing pain in his back and a soft breath against his ear.

"i don't think so." the familiar voice spoke softly. michael stood dead still, feeling soft breaths against his neck. "if he does anything to that mirror you can say goodbye to your family."

"actually, luke, on second thoughts i think i need the mirror for- for something." michaels voice shook as he plastered a fake smile on his face. luke furrowed his eyebrows but placed the mirror back slowly, his eyes darting around the room. he didn't want to question it. "please leave. i'll call you, okay? text me when you get home."

michael practically rushed him out of the house, shooing him away. he was more than happy to leave, mind, but terrified for his friend.

"why was your friend taking my mirror, then? what was that all about?" calum growled and walked in front of michael, arms crossed and eyes fiery.

"he-he was just borro-"

"bullshit!" calum interrupted. "you wanted to get rid of me, didn't you? didnt you?" michael flinched hard, tears welling up in his eyes. calum's eyes were cold, scary. they pierced into michaels scared green orbs.
