When we were woken up by the flight attendant. Cassie and I headed home and went into the living room after putting our arena bags in the hall closet.
I sat down and Cassie sat next to me and laid her head against my shoulder, folded her legs under her.
"It was good to be back for one night. And to return on the night the Undertaker retired. Makes it more special." She smiled.
"Well you definitely looked good during your match. You looked so at home in the ring." She smiled at me and kissed my cheek.
"So did you baby." She cuddled close to me.
"Thanks honey." I smiled as I kissed her lips.We spent Thanksgiving at home with Jess, Theresa and her wife Gina.
Then a few days after Thanksgiving, Cody and Brandi came over like they said they would.
Brandi hugged Cassie then hugged and kissed my cheek. Cody hugged Cassie and kissed her cheek then bro hugged me.
"So how are you two since your loss?" Cody asked.
"Umm, we're taking it one day at a time." I said.
"Daniel and I have been to couples grief counseling, and joined a couple of support groups. And like he said, we're taking it a day at a time." Cassie smiled.
"That's good. It's important to have help in times like this. We're really happy for you guys." Brandi smiled.
"I was surprised to hear that you guys had a miscarriage or two." I told them.
"We had a difficult time with it. But we got through it. As will you two." Cody grinned.
"I know it's gonna be considered rude, but is there any chance or plans for you two to try again?" Brandi asked.
"We haven't discussed it yet. And uh your not the only ones that are wondering about it." Cassie said.
"What were you going to name your lost baby?"Brandi asked nervously.
"Mercedez Rose Boyce." Cassie smiled. "Even though we didn't get to see or meet her. We felt that we should get a memorial statue of an angel with a name plate and set it up in the garden."
We continued talking to Cody and Brandi until they left for their hotel. When it started snowing, Cassie helped me paint the rocking chairs, shelves and I've never seen her happier than when we made handcrafted toys for the local children's hospitals and orphanages. We also invited her family to our place for Christmas. Cassie enjoyed being surrounded by family. I went out to the shop and finished a couple toys for the children's hospital. Sheila came out to the shop and found me putting the finishing touches on an old style rocking horse.
"Cassie told me that you and her were making toys for children's hospitals and orphanages. I find it really nice that you two have stayed together through what's happened."
"Thanks, ma. It will be a cold day in hell before I will abandon her because she's going through something traumatic." I painted a smile on the rocking horse.
"You do excellent work, ever think of doing this as a secondary career?" She asked.
"Maybe, Ron wrecked the car I was restoring. But woodworking is more easy and surprisingly comforting." I grinned.
"Daniel, when I found out that Cassie was pregnant, I was over the moon for you both. Then Theresa told us what Ron did and what the result was as she said that Cassie miscarried. I'm sure that you and Cassie will try again. Just as I'm sure that Ron will get what he deserves." Sheila grinned as she kissed my cheek. "I know for a fact that you and Cassie will start a family. And raise the kids the right way." I finished the horse before Cassie came out to us.
"Hey, baby." Sheila said.
"Hey, mom." She replied. "All the gifts ready?"
"Just finished the last rocking horse." I told her.
"Good." She kissed me before I put the last rocking horse in the pickup. "Can we talk?"
"Sure." I grinned as I wiped the somewhat dried paint off my hands as Sheila went inside.
She sighed as she sat in a chair and I sat on a saw horse. "I want to try again after Elimination Chamber. Maybe before."
"The funny thing is that, I want to try again as well." I told her. "But you do realize that when you become pregnant. You and I'll be back home to make sure that nothing happens to our baby or babies."
"I'm willing to do that for our growing family." She smiled.
"Even though that makes you have a two month title reign as Raw Women's Champion. And yes I saw the results of the latest draft. You and I are both on Raw. Along with Jess." I replied.
"Baby, I may want to be a champion, but I want to be a mother even more." She stood up and sat on my lap. "And even if it's two months. But at least I would have been a Women's Champion. I love you more than a title. And the same goes for our kids." I smiled as I rubbed her back.
"There's the Cassie I remember from the Australian indie's." I kissed her as she blushed. We went inside and told her family that we'd be back in an hour. Then got in the truck and made our delivery personally to the children's hospital. We were looked at like Santa and Mrs Claus. We signed pictures, and posters. We even posed with a few kids and left for home.
We enjoyed Christmas with her family. And when they went back home, Cassie and me heard that Ron was going to go to trial for what he did to Cassie. We did not miss a day. Especially when Cassie and Theresa were called as a witnesses. Cassie was also the the victim. On the second day after cross examinations. Of the doctor, M.E., Theresa and Cassie a second time. The jury took all of an hour to deliver a verdict of guilty. We went home and for the next month and a half. We got in fighting shape for Elimination Chamber. Made cupboards, cabinets, wicker rocking chairs, hutches, pretty much anything we could and gave it to friends and neighbors.
The Friday before Elimination Chamber. We decided to go out to dinner together for the first time instead of staying in for a date.
And to be honest, Cassie looked beautiful in her strapless black and white dress. I mean she dressed to the nines. After dinner, dancing on the patio of the restaurant. We went back home and once were in the house she ran to the bedroom to get it ready for our long night of passion. I was locking up the first floor. When I turned off the lights, I went upstairs to the bedroom and found candles, roses and rose petals all over the room. Cassie looked extremely intoxicating and alluring in her dark red lingerie. "Wow. You look. Wow." I said almost drooling, which made Cassie smirk.
"Glad you like it. Now come over here baby." I approached her and took off the suit I had worn for our date and when I was close enough, she pulled me on top of her as we made out like we had before the miscarriage happened. I missed our passionate make out sessions and I was sure Cassie missed them as well. But I wasn't going to hold anything back tonight. And Cassie enjoyed every second, because for the next few hours. We had the most passionate, intense and savage round we've ever had. When it was all said and done, me laying on my back, Cassie laying on top of me and her head resting on my right shoulder, we were covered in sweat, smiles decorating our faces. "I'd be surprised if nothing comes of that long, intense and passionate round."
"As will I." I kissed her forehead. Then she kissed my lips and I held her close as we both fell asleep.
