I was standing outside of the IIconics locker room as they got ready for their Women's Tag Team Championship match against the Kabuki Warriors in hopes of getting their titles back.
While they prepped for their match. I couldn't help but look back at my career and how lucky I have been to know Jessica McKay, but I'm very lucky to know my girl, Cassandra McIntosh. Known to the WWE Universe as Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. The IIconics.May 2013. Sydney, Australia.
It was at this time where I was traveling to a lot of indie companies and promotions. And since this was my first time in the Land Down Under. I didn't really expect to meet anyone or make friends. Boy was I in for a surprise.
It was during my time in Australia that I met the girls who would come to be known as the IIconics in WWE.
Me and the girls became friends as we soon began training together. Even went as far as to manage them for a short time.
Jessica noticed certain non-verbal cues that told her I liked Cassie a lot and more than as a friend. She must have told Cassie because the next thing I knew me and Cassie would time alone as Jessie would 'excuse' herself after a workout or some practice before a match or an event. It looked like we were going the right way to cement something like a relationship. But it didn't happen as 2015 rolled around. She and Jessie both signed with WWE NXT developmental. I was conflicted about how I felt about the fact I wouldn't see Cassie anymore. But I was happy for her and Jessie as they deserved this opportunity. I would remain in the indie's for close to three to four years. The last place I worked in the indie's was Japan. Where I signed a two year contract. Which was up in December of 2018. I miraculously came to the attention of WWE in August of the same year. But I served out my contract with Japan without incident.
I was given a month off after signing with WWE to find a home and at the same time my cousin Theresa was getting married to her longtime girlfriend Gina Rovenko. I served as her best man. When I made my debut the night following Elimination Chamber. I was reintroduced to the girl who only four to five years earlier almost became my girl. But she was dating Ronnie Arneill. Who was going under the ringname laughably referred to as 'The Perfect Ten' Tye Dillinger.February 18, 2019.
Night after Elimination Chamber. I barely arrived at the arena and headed to my locker room. But my presence didn't go unnoticed.
As I passed by catering. A couple of Aussie beauties looked at each other. Then at me. "Jess. Isn't that...?" Cassie started.
"He's the new signee? Well that explains why Ron has been more and more possessive of late." Jessie replied.
"He has not." Cassie nearly screamed.
"He has not what?" Ron asked as he kissed Cassie's cheek. The conversation moved away from the enigmatic topic of why he was becoming more and more protective and possessive.I meanwhile...
Was in the process of getting ready for my debut match against Xavier Woods. I was almost ready when a glimpse of Cassie came across my mind as I had looked briefly in catering as to who I'd be working with tonight. And as quickly as it appeared. My glimpse of Cassie vanished. I then finished getting ready for my debut.
When my match against Xavier came around. I put on my duster trenchcoat that had a mural on the back with the words 'The Highwayman' hidden in the design.
While waiting in the gorilla for my cue. Ron approached me.
"I heard about you." He grimaced. "You tried to date my Cassie."
"I heard of you too, Mr. Arneill. Been the top man in every company and promotion you competed in. Except. This one." I looked to Ron. "I wonder if the Perfect Ten actually lives up to his reputation." He got really angry with me. "If memory serves. You requested your release from the WWE a week or so ago. So, I won't have to sweat you for much longer. Cassie may be dating you. But she is my friend. So either way. Or however you think this little inconsequential encounter is supposed to go. Please, try and remember. You hurt Cassie. In any way. I'll come looking for you and really have some fun. The only question that you should consider. Is. Will you still have your fingers or ears when I'm done."
