CHAPTER TWO
Without having a say in the matter, I was returned to the place I was sold the first time. It seemed colder and dirtier than it was here before. If I were to be sold to another master today, then this would be my sixth master. Because of my stubborn attitude, my previous masters disliked the idea of keeping me. With this in mind, I knew how much they wanted to kill me.Some of my masters attempted to, however, I managed to survive each obstacles they had dropped on me. Sometimes, I wish they actually killed me because I'd prefer dying rather than living the life I have. Vampires treating me like as if I am their next course of meal or a toy where they can take advantage of. Most of all, I hate that I can't do anything about it.
I was once again placed in a tight crowded room of girls. They were in the same state as I am, in which included fresh bruises all over our skinny bodies. Their cries began to get on my nerves because all of us should know by now that crying won't change anything. On the far left corner of the room, there was a crowd circling a figure. Based on how the figure is lying and the loud cries, another girl died. I've seen so many deaths through my time in this place. Every time a girl dies, it's just a painful reminder that there is no hope left for me to live a jubilant and normal life.
"Hey." A girl spoke to me.
"Hey" I returned.
"So how long have you been a slave?" she asked. Astonished with her attempt to make small talk, I turned to her. Observing her from top to bottom, I noticed that she wasn't covered in bruises like the rest of us. I figured that she was new.
"Almost two years. You?"
"Just three days." she said. I was right.
"How many masters had you have?" I asked, keeping the conversation going
"One. He died from another vampire's hands. I thought I was finally free, but I didn't expect for them to take me back here."
I pity her. I can still see the fire in her eyes that she believes there's still hope. I didn't want to give her the idea of getting rid of it like I did. At least one person should still believe. Although, her master's death intrigued me. I wonder why there are no consequences for killing their own kind. Vampires act as if they are living a life of fairness and elegance, however, they are still the animals I see them as. They are civilized in a way where they should know what to do to keep their people alive. The chances of killing a vampire is no were close to a percentage because they are stronger than humans. The only way they could be killed is by another vampire.
"On my journey back, I've heard that the Vampire Prince seeking for a slave. For entertainment, I've also heard that he is very handsome." she said. Despite the situation we are currently in, I let out a small chuckle. Her optimism reminds me of an old friend of mine. She is like a pixie.
Not wanting to miss the chance to have a real light conversation after two years, I enlightened her with my lack of experience with the opposite gender. In other words, I told her I haven't experienced my first kiss.
Her jaw dropped. "Are you for real?! How old are you?" she asked.
"Eighteen." I responded.
"And you haven't kissed a single guy?! I'm only fifteen and I kissed a guy before and I even had... sex... with them."
W-what the... Sex? A little too early to do that, especially at her age. Maybe I should have kissed the guy who liked me in my junior year. He tried to kiss me but I pushed him away because I thought first kisses are special.
When Lea and I giggled about boys the two vampires who still looks the same after a year and a half yelled at all of us, threatening to hit us, especially to Lea and I.
