Chapter 28

Josies POV***

I walked into the deserted compound. There wasn't a soul. All of a sudden Friday spoke.

"Good evening Miss. Josies. Mr. Barnes is upstairs waiting for you. Would you allow me to notify stark you are home?"

"No, Friday, Do not notify anyone. I need time. Where is Mr. Barnes at?"

"Very well Miss., Mr. Barnes is in your quarters. Shall I ring for him?"

"No that is ok I will go. Thank you."

"A Pleasure as always Miss."

Why did Bucky stay back? I got off the elevator on my floor. I held the knob for a second and opened it. He wasn't in there... Just then he slowly came out of the bathroom looking at me.

"J-J-Josie?" He ran over pulling me into a strong embrace. I was so confused.

"Bucky where is everyone?" I pushed him off me "And why are you here acting like I'm dead?"

He looked at me confused. "Josie you were gone for a week. Zemo couldn't track you, Loki couldn't track you, Wanda couldn't feel your essence, and Steve was losing his mind. We even recruited Shield and Hydra. No one could find you." His eyes got wide "Where were you?!"

I looked out the window of my bedroom "Where is everyone Bucky... This place is deserted."

He nodded "Yeah well after the third day everyone thought you were dead." He held my hands while he said the next part not breaking eye contact. "Everyone thought you were dead. Wanda and Vision went to Paris to live. Natasha and Bruce are planning their wedding in Indonesia. Tony moved to the countryside with Pepper, she's pregnant. Steve, Loki, and Zemo are in Sokovia following leads on.. well you?" he dropped my hands and moved to the bar. "As for me, I had nowhere to go." he pointed to his bags "I was actually leaving today to go back to Wakanda. Everyone took your disappearance hard... Jo we all love you in our own ways.."

I sighed "My father had taken me. The Demi-God Asterope. Oh, and I met three other siblings beside Shiva. To top it all off my mother is alive." I didn't think he heard me I was whispering after all, but I looked up at him to see he had wide eyes blinking furiously at me. "That's who took me. I ended up waking up in a floating house. It must be off the radar. A gift from Poseidon."

He couldn't even answer me he started to chug whiskey. I spoke up "Friday, send out a message to all Avengers."

"what would you like the message to be."

"Josie is alive."

"Very well message sent."

Bucky laughed "They are going to be here in about ten minutes if not less. This will be the first lead ever."

"I thought you said Steve, Zemo, and Loki had leads?"

He looked grim "Loki was giving them false hope. Because he is a god they followed and listened to him."

I nodded "Well I'm hungry want to go into the kitchen and wait for the others with me?"

He smiled "Of course Jo." He cleared his throat "I missed you... You know not having someone to constantly be mad at me was getting boring. How would I go on living without it?"

I walked over and hugged him. He buried his face in my neck. I heard a sniffle and tried to pull away to look at him but he only pulled me tighter "Please let me just hold you a little. I won't get this moment again for a while I know it."

Part of me was breaking on the inside. Steve must have been beside himself. Bucky on the other hand being away from me for three years I did not expect this kind of greeting at all.

We were sitting in the kitchen laughing and telling stories of our hydra days. It's funny now but then it was fucked up. just then a suit of armor comes busting in. Wanda and vision in tail.

I stood up locking eyes with them all. Tony froze but Wanda and Vision both flew at me. I stumbled back a bit and Wanda started to sob in my hair. Gross.

"WHERE WERE YOU! NEVER MIND I DON'T CARE. DON'T LEAVE US AGAIN. WE THOUGHT YOU ...died..." she choked on the last word.

I started to laugh and they all looked at me funny "sorry it's just that I am the strongest avenger and yall thought I died?! Come on man, give me more credit than that!"

with that tony pushed aside vision and Wanda he had tears streaming down his face. He pulled me into the tightest embrace so far. I knew Steve was going to crush me. He stroked my head choking on his words "Don't you dare tell anyone I cried over your bitch ass." I giggled "I missed our ice cream dates." I nodded pulling back to look at him.

"I am sorry. It was impossible to send a signal where I was at. I will let everyone know what happened when the rest arrived."

Tony nodded "Cap, Zemo, and Loki will be awhile."

Just then Loki appeared. He looked at me and fell to his knees. He hung his head into his hands. I walked over kneeling with him and pulled him into a tight hug. We stayed like that for a while. He started to sniffle and it was at that moment I realized how much I meant to everyone here. They all couldn't even stay at the compound because my memory is all over this place.

Tony cleared his throat and started to make demands of Friday to open everything back up. Stock shelves and get everyone's orders for dinner tonight. He looked over at me still holding Loki "You do know this means we will have to host a party correct?"

I giggled "Of course it does, wouldn't expect anything different." He chuckled and walked off in the direction of the lab. Wanda and vision went with him to help. Bucky still sat at the breakfast nook drinking whisky out of a glass this time.

Finally, Loki leaned back staring into my eyes "I am a God. I have many talents. Finding you was my biggest failure." he paused "You need to link with Steve... We cant go through this again."

I smiled at him "I know a link would have given peace of mind, But do you really think an unkillable goddess could die? Keyword, Unkillable."

He laughed pulling me back in for a hug. "Sense of humor intact I see, princess." Ah to hear my most hated nickname actually brought me comfort. "So are you going to tell me where you were?"

I shook my head no "I am waiting for the others."

He nodded "Understood. I have to teleport back to Sokovia. Steve and Zemo are waiting to know if you truly are here."

I smiled "Ok, be gone then." I flicked my wrist. He rolled his eyes, winked, and then smirked disappearing.

I got out of the shower. I noticed it was eight at night. I let out a deep sigh looking at the gold phone on the counter. No one here except maybe Thor or Loki will be able to see it. Still, I felt like I needed to hide it somewhere. I walked out into my room and placed it on my nightstand. I noticed the pregnancy test still in there. Shit. Steve thought he lost me and our baby. He's going to be the most relieved out of anyone.

I changed into one of steves shirts and put my thong on. I just wanted to be comfortable and I missed him so much. I had no idea when I was going to see him. the fact that I was gone a week?! still wasn't registering. I slipped into bed and as soon as I hit that pillow, darkness followed.
