(A/N: Woah, it's been FOREVER since I've updated! So sorry, life, school, AND family stuff got in the way. 🥵

But I'm baaaack now! 😁

Ok, enough of me making up excuses. Lets get into it!)

===============================================

(Namaari's POV)

I can't do this.

What if she says no? What if I'm asking too soon?

Losing her again will be the worst thing on Earth.

Hey, maybe I should just think of it as a 50-50 chance. Meaning maybe she'll say yes, maybe she'll say no.

Hope she says yes.

I reach into my pocket again, feeling for the ring. I've probably stroked it about a hundred, million times today, like a sort of calming reflex.

"Namaari, you in there?"

I peek my head out around the door. "Uh, yeah. Hi, Raya. Walk with me?"

It's like a shard of glass is twisting around inside of me when I say that. It reminds me so much of my mother.

"Yeah." She takes my hand. "Sure."

(*the tiiiinest of time skips*)

The sky outside is so blue, with a light breeze, but not a cloud in sight.

Perfect time to ask her.

I take the ring out, hiding it in my free fist. Then I put it back, and take it out again.

I can't do this. We're so young, too young. Although, hang on, we are nineteen, so we're legally adults. But still.

Come on Namaari, it's now or never.

"Hey, Raya, i-i-if I asked you to marry me, what would you say?"

She looks startled. "I'd probably say yes. Why? Wait a minute.... You're gonna ask me, right now, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am." I uncurl my free fist, revealing the ring, and stand face to face with Raya, still holding her hand. "Raya, will you marry me? Look, I know it's only been a few weeks since I was almost married off against my will, and I'm okay with you saying no and me, or you, of course, waiting for a while to try and propose again, but I decided to try now, because you're the only person I've ever pictured spending the rest of my life with, well, if we last that long-"

She places a finger gently against my lips. "Shhhh. Slow down Namaari."

"So, will you marry me? You don't have to say yes, we can wait for a while."

She smiles. "Of course."

Yes! Yessssss!

The ring is slipped onto her right, middle finger. Her smile grows even bigger. "It's perfect."

I smile too, my hands leaving hers, and sneaking to her waist, lifting her off her feet and whirling her around. "Woah!" When I set her down she puts my hands back on. "Do it again."

So I do. It's like simply lifting a rock really, to me she's as light as a feather.

The third and last time I set her down, our mouths meet, and we kiss, her arms draped around my shoulders, feeling at my back.

I can't wait to taste her lips again, on the day we swear to love each other till death do us part. If we last that long.

Shut up brain.

We will. We will.

We were brought together again, and NOTHING can tear us apart.

And yeah, I know that's one of the cheesiest things in the history of cheesy things, but I'm sticking with it.
