Kodora was to float towards the beautiful young woman.
"I am Psyche I will help you discover the declaration of your human spirit. Follow me through time, and we will learn together the secrets of your soul."
Kodora found herself on a battlefield. She recognized the uniforms from a lesson in her history class. She was standing in the middle of the civil war. She watched in horror at the bodies lying around her. She noticed one man who was smaller than the rest, but she could tell by his eyes he was no less a soldier for his size. Then she realized it was not a man but a woman in disguise it was her.
Kodora remembered her name it had been Emma. She had helped to bring about the fall of the Confederacy. She had been a spy and soldier for the Union army. Before she could remember more of what she had done as a spy, she was being taken off to another moment in the mysteries of her soul. The year was the early 20th century she stood in front of what appeared to be a police station. She watched as a young woman walked out of the police station in uniform.
Kodora's, memories were triggered. She had been Alice back then. This was Los Angeles 1910, how proud she had felt when appointed the first woman Police officer. Sure women had served as jail matrons, but she was a Police officer with the same duties as the men. She had been the first. Kodora went to ask Psyche where they were going next, but she found herself standing in what she thought was nothing she was all alone.
Lilla stood at the top of the steps a bit hesitant to go past the pillars. She could see into them, but she had noticed when Kodora had gone through she could no longer see her. She hated to be alone. She took a deep breath and put her shoulders back and walked between them finding herself no longer wet and feeling as if she had been split into parts. She found herself standing in the presence of a beautiful winged woman who seemed to be hovering directly in front of her.
As soon as Lilla vanished, Saphira stepped into the amber pool and made her way to the structure before her. The others waited and watched. Ichiro figured ten minutes had passed since Parla had entered. He figured if all went well in another ten minutes he would be the last one to get into the amber pool.
Kodora adjusted her eyes to the darkness and was surprised to find she was seeing the outline of a person who as she watched seemed to be getting solder. Soon an old man was standing before her.
"I am called Merlin. It is my duty to take you to a place in time that reflects the disasters that befall this world and others if the powers of the ten fail in their mission. This is not how it is at this time, but how it could be. You must learn what will be the outcome for you and the universe if the ten of you fail. Search your memories and come with me."
He brought her to a place she knew well the streets of New York. She saw from where she was lady liberty toppled over in the water. Smoke was billowing out from the buildings she could hear the screams of horror from her fellow New Yorkers. They were an active people she knew that but how many times could one city be brought to its knees and made to suffer by the monsters of the universe. Before, she could make her declaration Kodora found herself standing in the center chamber with Parla and Azakia.
