Plot | Reeling from his crushing defeat at the Grand Prix Finale, Yuuri Katsuki, once Japan's most promising figure skater, returns to his family home to assess his options for the future. At age 23, Yuuri's window for success in skating is closing rapidly, and his love of pork cutlets and aptitude for gaining weight are not helping either.
However, Yuuri finds himself in the spotlight when a video of him performing a routine previously executed by five-time world champion, Victor Nikiforov, suddenly goes viral. In fact, Victor himself abruptly appears at Yuuri's house and offers to be his mentor. As one of his biggest fans, Yuuri eagerly accepts, kicking off his journey to make it back onto the world stage. But the competition is fierce, as the rising star from Russia, Yuri Plisetsky, is relentlessly determined to defeat Yuuri and win back Victor's tutelage. |

Personal Review | This was the first anime I watched on my own and I have to say that I don't regret anything. At some parts I wasn't really sure if it really is a yaoi, but it still was a nice anime. The ice skating parts are very long and very often. Of course the series is about ice skating and the anime was very aesthetically pleasing, but I skipped some ice skating parts 'cause after the 100st time it was getting kinda boring. Anyways Yuri !! On Ice is a very nice anime and I love the storyline. I have to be honest with y'all that I watched this series because the writer got inspired by Yuzuru Hanyu, one of the best ice skaters in the world right now, and I'm obviously a fan of him. But the inspiration made the series even better for me 'cause I saw parallels between Yuzuru Hanyu and the series and as his fan it was very nice to watch!
