The Lies Between Us

25 – Sleepless
Lisie woke up feeling a hand slapping her face in the middle of a nightmare.
"Hey, it's a new day. Get up, rookie." Soo smirked knowingly removing the fluffy sheets off from Lisie.
Lisie pulled herself up and tilted her head. She reached for a glass of water on the corner table then frowned when she looked up at her friend. It took her a whole minute before her eyes adjusted to the light coming from her Presidential Suite's tall glass windows..
"You know I had this nightmare..." She paused scrunching her nose trying to remember something.
"And there's Tait and Haye having a messy fight and they were forcing me to choose between them. And then I was so scared 'cause you know they were so close to killing each other because in my dream they told me I have to pick one so I just cried and told them to love each other instead..." She scoffed settling the glass back to the drawer. "I swear to god I'm so relieved that it was all but a dream."
"Mhmm..." Soo raised an eyebrow making her way to the suite's receiving area for breakfast. Lisie followed closely after reaching for a robe then slouched herself on the velvet sofa. Her eyes feasted on the scrumptious food laid out on the table. When she found a yellow macaron, she didn't hesitate to take it.
It was a very English way for the two girls to start their day. London has always been cold as well as the locals but there's something here that made Lisie felt she belonged.
Visiting London felt like she was meeting herself in her most comfortable habitat. From the laid back fashion to the sweet and simple breakfast to the unapologetic uncaring way of the English made her think that this day might be perfect.
That's what she thought until Soo turned on the telly.
The sweet savory sugar icing bursts inside Lisie's mouth as Fridays Breaking News ruined her seemingly perfect day.
"The London Journalists have caused a disturbance outside The Ritz Hotel as they horde celeb royalty, Tait Kingston as he sprinted his way back to his hotel room."
Lisie gasped seeing Tait's displeased frown. He wasn't wearing anything to cover his face but a black cap. It didn't do anything to cover his face – and his viral bruised nose.
Lisie's hands went to her mouth hearing more of the morning news. "Tait Kingston remained quiet about the backlash that happened last week where he and up-and-coming music producer Hayes Bright went for each chap's throats."
"This...can't be..." Lisie dropped her head on her hands and groaned. "Urgh."
She heard Soo's laugh filling the room. "Let's face it, it's kind of fun having two boys fight over you, isn't it."
"I think I need tequila." Lisie expressed her denial.
"Nope!" Soo snapped sternly. "You've been drinking for five days straight since the incident. It's time to face reality, Lisie. We're not kids anymore."
Lisie made a face, tempted to stuck her tongue out to her best friend but she composed herself well.
"I told you I do that 'cause it helps me sleep."
"Let's get you ready. We have a premiere to go to." Soo scoffed ignoring Lisie's excuses.
"I don't want to be a movie star anymore. Get me back to my go-sees."
