Tyler's POV-
"Come on. I want to show you something," Troye calls over his shoulder, glancing side to side. His ruby jeweled crown hangs lopsided in his tousled hair. His wings glide over the ground lightly. You can tell he's been through a lot. His skin is scarred. His wings are worn, but stronger than ever. His eyes are cold and hard. He sets his jaw evenly and rolls his shoulders back while confronting anyone other than me. It's as if every mole he took only made him stronger and now, now he's here and he's invincible. It's been a long time. Almost a year, since I have seen anyone I used to love face to face. But I don't mind, and that's the strange part. The day Troye brought me here, I lost something. Something that only held me back from everything I could do. I have been free since that day. I remember it perfectly, crystal clear. Troye gave me power and authority and luxury when he brought me here. Brought me to Hell.
Troye has been in charge since that day. Everything was in chaos down here. Lucifer was gone and everything, every twisted soul lurking in the darkest parts of hell emerged. Troye took over, brought order to chaos. But he changed; every day down here was a day he lost a part of his compassion or kindness. Except to me. He never changed anything that would affect me. He only had one condition for that. Run the underworld alongside him. Of course that meant giving up my sanity and, well, my life. But, you know what, I didn't hesitate for even a second before throwing my arms around him and whispering yes into his ear. Everything changed in that moment. I was more powerful and people listened to me, but it all started messing with my head. But it's worth it. Every mental breakdown I have, brief or strenuous, is worth it. I'm finally free. As free as someone chained to hell can be, I suppose.
I hear Troye running back through the puddles of water. I realize I stopped mid stride, lost in my own head and I shake my thoughts away and look over at Troye trudging through large puddles. He looks anxious or worried as he approaches, but he is still standing strong and sure. He stands in front of me and gets really close to my face. He plants a small kiss on my lips, warming my skin, then pulls away and cups my face for a precious moment.
" I really can't afford you zoning out right now, Tyler," Troye says and starts pulling me after him. I yank my hand back and follow him willingly.
"Where are we going anyway," I ask, stomping through the water that is quickly collecting. Every time I come back to earth and it's raining, I am always amazed by it. I guess I just miss the rain that never happens in hell. Troye chose an especially rainy day to "run some errands" as he puts it. Errands never mean errands. It usually mean killing and destroying. And I'm always there happy to help. A loud thud echoes in the tunnel were now walking through and Troye and I both flick to human form. That's another advantage hell gave us. Nobody in the angel realm ever taught us this trick until Lucifer did when he was giving Troye power. He said it would be useful. It is, being able to turn our wings into mere shadows to mask our true form. That's another thing. Being a fallen angel turned my wings jet black, just like Troye's. It makes me wonder if he was a fallen the whole time, destined to become something the angels taught us to fear and hate. But I would never dare express that curiosity. Troye may be nice to me, but he lost the understanding part of him a long time ago. It's shoot now and ask questions later for us.
"Just follow me, I think it's them again," Troye answers and I have the urge to roll my eyes. Of course it's the guys again, they never give up. They almost got us once, we had to go straight to hell and patch Troye up. They got him, tortured him...and I had to watch and wait for an opportunity that never came because that's what Troye wanted and Troye gets what he wants. I look to my right and see Troye walking over to a door, his footsteps now barely a ripple of water underneath him. He holds his hand out and the door a few feet away opens slowly. He looks back at me and winks, everything is clear. We continue walking in until the sound of rain is Inaudible from our location in the building. Suddenly, lights flicker on around us with a shrill sound. I look over and see Troyes eyes flick to black with a blink and he scans the room. He tries to take another step but it's like an invisible wall stops him.
"You've got to be shitting me," Troye breathes and looks up. I follow his gaze to a bunch of beams arranged in what looks like some type of star in a circle or something. A cloud moves along and the moonlight casts a shadow of the figure around us. I hear laughing and try to move to safety, but I can't step outside the circle.
"What is that?" I ask, confused. Troye looks at me then past me and scowls. I turn around. My eyes flick black. It's them.
"Two for one? Must be my lucky day," the cocky one, Dean, says. Sam and Castiel step out from the shadows and join him, looking tired and frankly, like shit.
"Long time, no see," Troye replies casually. I don't get how he is so calm when these are the guys who tortured him until they thought he was dead. Maybe he has a plan.
"You know, I was certain I killed you. Should've known better than to think your smart ass was gone," Dean counters and smirks before glancing up at the beams above us,"Guess I'll just make sure I do it right this time, since I've got plenty of time."
"I wouldn't be so sure of yourself, Dean Winchester," Troye says, like he is trying out the name. Dean keeps smiling and Sam walks up next to him, with Castiel leaning against him. I remember what Troye did to Castiel. Castiel looks awful. Serves him right. He tried to kill Troye.
"Oh, I'm sure. Now, since you brought a friend, this is going to be even easier," Dean says dramatically. Always one for a show I guess.
