Their was a loud bang on the door. I got up and looked through the peep hole. I saw Janay's smiling face looking happy, but somewhat airheaded. I opened the door shaking my head.
"Don't you have homework?" i said laughing opening the door
"Uh...no..but uh" she stammered
"Spit it out Princess" i said teasing her
"You know Roc right?" she asked, and i squinted
i looked at her closely "Yeah" i said full to my tippy toes with suspicion
"Okay...i'm just going to say this....i'm dating him" she said, i wanted to freak out.
But by all means i am happy for her. The thing is...i feel like she's putting herself in danger. I don't want Janay to get hurt, and if she does...that completely will set me off. So i may be over protective right now but if i am...so be it. Call me mom....i don't care i just want my Best friend to be okay.
"Uh, Cam...are you okay?" she asked waving her hand in front of her face
"Huh?" i said realizing i was talking in my head while staring at her "oh...uh yeah" i said
"So...are you mad?" she said looking me in my eyes
I sighed "No...i'm not mad" i said letting go of the door, and plopping on the couch "it's just my imagination right" i said throwing my hands up "Maybe it is Janay...maybe i just want a story so bad that i'm making crap up" i said
"It's okay Cam...you're the best Journalist this school will ever see. If you just write about something else i'm sure everyone will love it" she said sitting on the arm of the couch
"But if i don't find a story soon they'll kick me off" i said looking up to her
"Well, then just stay after school investigate OTHER situations...talk about something other than Prince and his crew" she said "Plus i think you just like him" she covered her mouth and her eyes widened
"What?!" I said, wanting to pounce on her
she just sat with her mouth covered
"i could never like him...he's creepy...today he stared at me while i was walking to the bus" i said walking to the kitchen
"Oh wow...wait...really?" she said following me, with wide eyes
I opened the fridge "yeah him and that Prodigy guy" i said grabbing a diet pop "See that's what i'm talking about...just plain weird i tell you i don't understand why thy even allow him at our school" I protested while opening my drink
"Well i admit that's weird but...everyone deserves a second chance" she said making a puppy dog face
"What are you implying?" i asked
"Well...it could be nothing...it could be something" she sat down "we'll never know"
"Well, anyways I will do my best to find another story, but that doesn't smother the fact that They're definitely not to be trusted" I said
"Alright well i should be getting home sweet lumps" She said
"Goodbye" I sang, waving from the couch as she shut the door
Hours and hours after Janay left I was peacefully asleep in my bed when i heard a rustling in my house. First my head jumped from my pillow, and my eyes wondered the room. I listened close trying to hear the sound again. Then i heard it. I tip toed around to my bedroom door. I peeked down the stairs and i heard it again. The sound was like bagging something. Is there a thief in my house? Then i walked down the stairs as quietly as i could and grabbed the flashlight from off the counter. I shined the light bright into the living room.
Nothing was there and then i shined the light into the kitchen. I slipped into something wet, and i fell on the floor. My hand was sitting in something although i'm not sure what. I lifted my hand and shined the light on it. It was dark red. I panicked , and i wiped it on the wall praying this wouldn't look like a crime scene. I'm hoping that was not blood. Then i heard it outside, and i ran to the door. I looked out the window, i moved my flashlight to a moving figure.
"J-J-Janay?!"
