Luke's POV:
I walked upstairs to say goodnight to the boys and walked down the hallway, when I heard sobs coming from the room Sophie was staying in while we were here.
"God. I don't know why you are always hounding on me about my grades. You and Sage!" She screamed. I assumed she was on the phone. But with who? Who else would be hounding on her about grades other than her parents?
I knocked on the door softly. After a couple seconds Sophie answered the door and let me in. She still had the phone pressed to her ear. Tears were running down her cheeks as she closed the door once again. I sat beside her on the bed and did my best to comfort her.
"Fine." Sophie huffed into the phone.
"I love you baby girl." A male voice said over the phone. Sophie hung up and put it down. She immediately started crying.
"Sounds like you need to get out of a relationship with that boy." I joked.
"I wish," she sighed. "He's my dad."
I pulled her close to me and rubbed her back. She started to cry again, but this time not as hard. "Luke, can I tell you something?"
"Sure." I smiled.
"You have gotten me through everything. All my problems with my dad and step mom. All my conflicts with school, my mom, stepdad, sisters. Everything. You mean so much to me and you don't even know it. Most people love you because they think you're hot. Yeah. You're good looking and I like that about you, but it's more of a fatherly connection I feel towards you. Call me crazy but you're like a non-existent father." She sniffed. I hugged her tighter.
"Aw. Darlin that's okay. You're not crazy." I laughed a little and kissed her head. After a few minutes I changed the subject. "How was y'all's date tonight?" I raised my eyebrows up and down. She laughed and searched her mind for a response.
"It was. Good." She was still in thought.
"Uh oh. What's the boy do?" I laughed.
"No it really was good. He was just weird. He's super nice, but he's weird and he gets nervous a bunch." She laughed.
"So I gotta punch a little manpower into him." I held up my fist and stood up jokingly. She grabbed my arm and pulled me back down.
"There is no need for that!" She laughed.
Til's POV:
I walked down the hall to the bathroom and heard Sophie and Uncle Luke laughing and talking. I listened in for a few minutes and heard Sophie say, "He is really nice. His parents raised him well. I like him a lot."
What? Sophie likes another boy? Why didn't she tell me? Why did she go to dinner with me if she likes someone else? Did she thing it was a one time thing? God I'm such an idiot. Did I really think it would last?
I continued towards the bathroom and brushed my teeth. As I came out of the bathroom Uncle Luke was coming out of Sophie's room. I locked eyes with Sophie for a few seconds before just completely walking away. Uncle Luke had already gone in the bathroom.
"Til! What the hell?" Sophie shouted and came out of the door. I turned mid-step to face her. "What's your problem?" Sophie asked.
"Just leave it alone Sophie." I demanded and walked into the room I was sharing with Bo and Tate. Unfortunately, my room was right next to Sophie's. I put my stuff aside and laid down. God. I really liked her. What happened?
