- Goodbyes

Summary: Goodbyes are never easy.
Notes: I found some old writing of mine. This one's from November 2013 :o

Harry hated the word 'goodbye'.

Possibly even more than he hated the word 'famous'.

But you see, 'goodbye' didn't always matter to Harry. The word could roll off his tongue with such ease; now he dreads the seven letter word. Each syllable was like poison to his soul, especially when he would have to say it to Ariana.

Her eyes would turn a tone darker, her lips would twitch and her nose would flare. Harry could always tell she was trying not to cry, maybe because he was sure he was doing the same.

But he would never cry in front of Ariana, for fear that she would end up a blubbering mess too and unintentionally convincing Harry to stay. But this time he wasn't the only one saying goodbye.

Ariana had joined the boys on their last few days of the tour in Japan, but now it was time to go.

"Call me when you land." Harry whispered shakily as his thumb swiped away the stray tear that had fallen against Ariana's cheek.

"I-I will. You better answer." She replied as Harry smiled down at her reassuringly.

"On the first ring, I promise you." Ariana smiled weakly and dug her head closer to Harry's chest as he held her closer.

"Why do you have to go to Germany anyways?" Harry muttered.

"Press stuff. You know how it is." Ariana sighed.

"Where are you off to afterwards?" Harry asked quietly.

"Paris, then London. I'll see you then." Ariana said as Harry sighed.

"How long is that?" Harry asked again.

"About a week." Ariana sighed as Harry groaned.

"That's ages from now." Ariana giggled and leaned up to peck his lips. "I love you. I'll be back for you soon." Ariana teased as Harry pouted and leaned down to kiss her again, this time much passionately. "Ah I love you too kitten. I'll be waiting."
