chapter 8: Family affection

Jennie Kim...

WAS THIS FAMILY JUST FILLED WITH ANGELS OR WHATTT????

I mean she doesn't even know my name I practically intruded into her home and now am sitting in her daughter's bed but she is still caring about me WHYYY?!?!

Unknowingly my tears spilled out again. What was this like my 100th time crying today? Why was this family making me so emotional? She hadn't even done anything but speak to me nicely and even that bought me to tears.

"Oh I'm so sorry honey did I say something wrong? I didn't mean to upset you" AND KNOW SHE WAS APOLOGISING WHYYYY!? I contained my feelings and replied with. "No no you did nothing I was just overwhelmed with this new...feeling? I think?" 

"Oh well, didn't mean to startle you two but Jisoo honey dinner is ready and Jennie dear why don't you stay for dinner we would love for you to join us at the table." My eyes lit up, somewhere deep down I was hoping she would ask that I looked at Jisoo and found her already staring at me while nodding with hopeful eyes. Well, who am I to say no to her.

"If it wouldn't be too much of a hassle then, of course, I would love to join you," I said with a sweet smile plastered on my face. "Oh of course not you seem like a lovely girl and plus we would love to meet one of Jisoo's friends" this was the first time in many years where I had felt good about myself and heard people say good about me unknowingly a bright smile stretched across my face. "Thank you" "no problem," she said "anyways I'll leave you two to finish up and come down, don't take too long alright?" we both nodded and she smiled and left.

Jisoo turned to me and said "thanks for staying for dinner" "no I should be thanking you for having me and listening to me" "of course and hey don't think about any of that anymore let's start afresh and forget the past, from now on we'll start a new path together as friends" she said while bringing her hand out for a shake. 

Something inside me was upset about being just friends with her but I was also ecstatic over the fact of being closer with her. I ignored her hand and went straight in for a hug and mumbled friends on her shoulder. We stayed in that position for a while until Jisoo's mum called us for dinner from downstairs we pulled apart and went down avoiding eye contact as both of us were blushing

(TIME SKIP )

They were all at the dinner table waiting for Jisoo's dad and having some small talk when suddenly the doorbell rang mrs Kim got up to answer it and a tall handsome middle-aged man walked in with a warm smile on his face he walked over to Jisoo and kissed her head.

Kim Jisoo POV... 

The door opened and my dad walked in first he greeted my mother and then came towards me and kissed the top of my head. I saw Jennie looking at us with a sad smile on her face she had probably never had this sort of interaction with her father.

"Ahem, dad this is my friend Jennie" "Jennie this is my father, Kim Baek-Hyun" Jennie stood up and my father faced Jennie. She extended out her hand and said "nice to meet you Mr. Kim" but being my dad he engulfed Jennie into a warm hug and Jennie hesitantly replied "nice to meet you Jennie and please don't be so formal call me uncle" Jennie's face immediately turned in to a pleasant shock and vibrantly nodded. "And since your calling him uncle then feel free to call me aunty." my mother butted in a joyful tone. We all chuckled at her behavior and sat down to have dinner.

( TIME SKIP )

Jennie Kim POV...

That was probably the most I had ever enjoyed and talked in a long time I felt like I had no worries or stress I could openly laugh without anything scaring me and for the first time in years It wasn't a fake laugh it came straight from the heart. This family was amazing I never wanted to leave I felt wanted and loved by people who only knew me for a few hours whereas in my own family we never even had a decent meal together. This is what I had always craved for. 

A loving family. 

But soon the time I dreaded came it was getting dark and I had to go back home back to my empty lifeless home.

"Alright, uncle aunty and Jisoo it's time for me to get going and head back home thank you for the lovely afternoon and delicious dinner it really was probably the most fun I had in ages."

"Oh no dear it was our pleasure but please stay for the night it's very dark outside and I don't want to let you go at such a time." Jisoo's mother said in a concerned tone. My heart fluttered as she showed this affection. "Oh no I could not possibly do that and plus all my stuff is at my house."

"No it would be no problem at all and you can always borrow Jisoo's stuff she has a spare uniform, in fact, we would like for you to stay longer you were a delight to have and we would love to get to know you better.

I really didn't want to leave and she did have a point and I was internally rejoicing over her offer of staying longer so I enthusiastically nodded slightly shouting a yes which made them chuckle at my behavior leaving me embarrassed. 

"Great you can share a room with Jisoo" I got even more excited and nodded again. "Alright then we will leave, you two get to bed quickly" they both came to us and kissed our foreheads my heart exploded at this new feeling.

"I think we should get to bed as well we have to wake up early for school tomorrow," she said I nodded and we head to Jisoo's bedroom.

( TIME SKIP )

AUTHOR'S POV...

Jennie changed into some of Jisoo's clothes and sat on the edge of the bed waiting for Jisoo to come out of the bathroom something was worrying her inside which she didn't want Jisoo to judge her about (but seeming she had just told the girl her whole life story it was quite unlikely that she would judge) but it still bugged her. Soon enough Jisoo came out in her nightwear with wet hair looking amazing Jennie couldn't help but stare but came out of her trance when Jisoo clicked her finger's in front of her.

"Hey, you alright?" Jisoo asked concerned "uhum y-yeah yeah I'm fine I just blacked out for a sec" she stuttered out while heavily blushing "you sure? you're red do you want me to get you some medicine or something?" she said while placing her hand on Jennie's forehead with worry laced in her voice. Jennie turned into a whole tomato by Jisoo's displayed affection and had to look away for a second to get a hold of herself she took deep breaths then turned to Jisoo and said "Jisoo I'm fine don't worry I was just thinking about something and got lost in my thoughts" she said while blatantly lying the only thing she was 'lost' in was the girl's beauty. "well do you want to tell me about it" she asked while sitting in front of Jennie. Jennie thought that this was the right time to tell Jisoo about her problem. 

She sighs and speaks "well I have this issue while sleeping" she pauses "go on" Jisoo encourages "and that problem is that I'm a cuddler I always cuddle something while sleeping and without that, I can't, normally I use my stuffed animal, yes I have a stuffed animal, but since I'm not home I can't." Jennie says all in one breath. It has been a few seconds and Jisoo has not said anything and is now glowing red Jennie thinks that she scared Jisoo of and was about to say something but Jisoo beats her to it "o-o-h i-its ok-kay that's f-fine I don't mind" "REALLY!" Jennie screams in enthusiasm "I-I mean you sure you don't mind I can sleep somewhere else if you're uncomfortable with it I won't feel bad" she reassures "no no I swear I really don't mind you don't have to sleep anywhere else and as my mom made clear you feel comfortable over here ok?" "ok" Jennie said shyly.

They both lie in bed facing opposite sides smiles stretched widely across their faces their whole relationship changed within a few hours they went from strangers to true friends who know they can tell each other everything they gained such a close bond in the time span of 1 day and were absolutely over the moon about it and this was the only day of them staying together Jennie was gonna stay much longer. "Good night Jisoo," she said breaking the comfortable silence " good night Jennie, and again don't feel uncomfortable about cuddling into me ok" "hmm" Jennie hummed feeling excited for no reason at all. A few minutes had passed and Jennie turned to Jisoo and cuddled into her back wrapping her arm around Jisoo's waist she inhaled her scent and fell into her beautiful dreamland not knowing Jisoo was awake and blushing and soon after fell asleep too.
