"𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐋𝐋 𝐁𝐄 𝐎𝐊 𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐎𝐖𝐍?" Isis asked her mother. A worried expression clouded her pretty face. She was putting her lunch and other things into her bag. Charity looked at her only daughter with a fond smile. She hated the whole situation.
She wanted Isis to take the day off and admit everything to her, but she couldn't. They wouldn't permit it. And it wasn't the right time. She really didn't deserve such an amazing daughter. Charity nodded her head, a soft yet pained smile etched onto her face. "I'll be alright little one," she whispered.
But Isis didn't look convinced. She knew when her mother was lying.
She furrowed her eyebrows, swinging her keys around in her hand. "Are you sure? Because I can always take the day off. Family is much more important. Family above all, remember?" Isis searched her mother's face.
She was extremely worried about her. Even more so as she saw her father's behaviour toward her yesterday.
Charity had tears come into her dark eyes, but she did not let them fall. She had to be strong for her daughter. "I'm alright I promise," she replied. "If anything happens, and I mean anything, please call me okay?" Charity smiled, kissing her daughters cheek, shooing her out of the door. "I promise. Now go! Otherwise you'll be late." She chuckled.
Isis playfully rolled her eyes and made her way out of the house. "I love you mom!" Isis called from her truck. Charity's heart swelled. She watched as Isis' truck rolled down the road. "I love you too," she whispered as she shut the door.
