Today was a very exciting day for Wonwoo. He passed an important test he had been studying for days, luckily received a ps5 from his parents as a gift, and now Mingyu, his bestfriend and him are going on a picnic today near the pond.
"Won, where are you?" Mingyu shouted through the phone, causing Wonwoo to flinch. Well, Wonwoo could even hear Mingyu from outside. Why didn't he just come in the house, geez.
"Wait a minute Gyu, I'm almost ready!" Wonwoo struggled to put on his shoes while he was on the phone, so he just hung up.
He quickly grabbed his phone and ran downstairs opening the door, seeing Mingyu leaning at the wall looking at the watch on his wrist.
"Finally! Let's go, Wonu!" Mingyu grabbed Wonwoo's hand and went in the car, making Wonwoo trip a little.
They talked about some things in the car to pass the time, played some music and fighting about what flavor of ice cream is better.
"Chocolate is better!"
"No! Strawberry is!"
"No it's choco!"
"Fine! Choco then!" Wonwoo just agreed, not wanting to fight.
"Ah! We're here!" Mingyu said, parking at a specific spot near the pond before they both went out of the car. They arrived at the lake, which had a picnic mat set on the grass and LOTS of food, which most were Wonwoo's favorite.
"Wow Mingyu- Did you really set all this up by yourself?" Wonwoo looked around, not believing that this lazy person, could prepare all this stuff without any help.
"Yes, is it that unbelievable? Im offended. But anyways, let's sit down, I'm hungry." Mingyu dragged Wonwoo, and sat down on the mat.
"You brought strawberry ice cream?!"
Wonwoo was surprised since Mingyu would always say no to strawberry and bring chocolate.
"Yeah. I realized I haven't bought you strawberry ice cream since I always went with what I wanted: chocolate" Mingyu ranted, making Wonwoo roll his eyes.
They kept talking about random things while eating, debating if they should catch some butterflies, or play tag. Well they decided to do both. First, they were catching butterflies, since they were everywhere.
"Wonwoo! I caught one!" Mingyu called, putting it in a container he brought with him, and running to Wonwoo. "Woah! It's so pretty!" Wonwoo kept staring at the blue butterfly, thinking how it could be so precious and beautiful.
"Have you caught one?" Mingyu asked, Wonwoo shook his head as an answer.
"
Well, since I caught a butterfly already, let's play tag!" Mingyu said, so they played rock paper scissors to know who would be it.
Well eventually Mingyu lost, so Wonwoo immediately ran far away from Mingyu since he was a really fast runner.
"Pfft, you can't catch me!" Wonwoo shouted at the other side of the pond, making faces at the younger.
"Don't underestimate me!" Mingyu yelled back, running fast to the other side of the lake leaving Wonwoo no choice but to run for his life.
And with his clumsy self, he tripped. Luckily, Mingyu was fast enough to save him from falling by grabbing his waist.
"
Wonu be careful!" Wonwoo was in utter shock, a blush creeping on his cheeks.
"Uhm.. Thanks Gyu." Wonwoo said, awkwardly removing himself from Mingyu, just standing there. Mingyu still didn't realize the situation, so he dragged Wonwoo back there at the picnic spot.
"Gyu, thanks for bringing me here." Wonwoo said, wrapping his arms around his legs looking like a fluffball.
"
Of course Wonu.. I'm just tryna do what lovers do." Mingyu said with full confidence. Wonwoo's eyes widened, just realizing what he said.
"..What?" Wonwoo stuttered, eyes blinking rapidly. Mingyu just stared at him for seconds, then finally said something. "Wonu, I like you, okay?"
Mingyu finally said, still not taking his eyes off of him. "Are you joking? Haha, you must be." Wonwoo laughed, until he saw how serious Mingyu was. "No, I like you."
Mingyu said, now in a serious tone.
"Oh... Gyu, what.. I like you too, so muc-" Before Wonwoo could say anything else, Mingyu pulled him into a hug.
"Won.. I want to kiss you so bad right now... can I?" Mingyu said, pulling away from the hug. Wonwoo shyly nodded, feeling Mingyu's lips on his. It felt like a million butterflies were flying in his stomach, seeing sparks.
They eventually pulled away, making eye contact.
"Let's do that again" Wonwoo said.
