When Beverly was four her country was under the rule of a dictator that had been ruling them for over thirty years. She did not know much back then and hence didn't question the large scale celebrations when her country gained independence, but when she started middle school, she wondered why people did not fight back earlier and so when Bev asked teacher that same thing she simply answered media censorship. Since then she wanted to become a journalist.
