The rain poured outside of the cave, leaving her inside, by the mouth of the cave, watching as it came down heavily. Of course, N was there... curled around her like some giant lap dog... he was keeping her quite warm.... Like always.
She gently scratched behind his very soft ears, earning happy growls that resembled a purr... it's head laying in her lap, pulling her closer... she sighed... he's been very needy since she said that... she wanted to leave. She'd normally get some wandering time to herself... but now he was always near her... always around her... bringing her more presents, food, and bringing back the crab apples... even if he hates them. Dont get her wrong, she deeply appreciates every nice gesture... it's just.... This life... it's not for her, at least she doesn't think it is.
"N?" She asked softly, listening to the rain, earning a small grunt to her question. "Do you feel any remorse for killing that woman? Back in the village... when we met." She questioned, that seemed so long ago... even if it was always on her mind.
He shifted a little, grumbling softly. "No..." He said quietly, causing her to sigh... why not? How could... you not feel guilt? Well, she knew why... they were very different beings... thought differently. "Felt bad... for scaring you.... Didn't mean to make you cry... or throw up... just... thought you'd like those things, promises." He explained with his normal broken, not very well pronounced English... she's gotten used to it.
"Why would you even think to do it?" She asked, looking down at him... speaking calmly... more curious then mad now... even if she was still very bitter.
"Because... because... well... flowers.. you pick.. wanted you as mate and..." He trailed off. "Wanted... wants puppies... so... thought... maybe showing strength... with those promises in the gift... thought you might understand." His explanation did not make it right, or really even make her understand. He just... knew wolves didn't care if they kill or ate or ripped each other apart, they still mated, it was life... so he thought she'd think the same primal way as that... he was simply more elaborate.
"You... still want those puppies?" She asked, earning a nod. "Yes... in my blood to mate and.. would... think our puppies... strong and pretty..." He looked away, seeming to be sort of... embarrassed almost... She blushed, she was very embarrassed too. It was hard not to be when someone tells you they literally want your kids... the thought was... well quite frankly, weird.
"But it's okay... knows- Mngh, I know you don't want puppies..." He corrected his English, the former doctor nodding.
"Your the strangest creature, N." She said randomly, snickering softly. N sighed, a smile in his eyes. "I know." He got comfortable, just watching to the rain... both listening to the sound... pitter patter... a silent... but somewhat tender moment.
