{Pssst! That's what the forest you're in looks like. A sort of wetland area-}
It was now late Spring, the rainy season being rainier than ever this year, leaving the forests cold and foggy most days even if the weather was supposed to be warming up. Lucky for Y/N, cold nights were nothing to worry about, not with N by her side...
A deer skin blanket that was now doubling as a jacket was wrapped around her shoulders as she walked through the densely fogged woods, occasionally picking some edible berry or flower, heading towards the crab apple tree... though they were sour even if ripe, were a sustainable source of food... other than the heavy amount of meat she had to eat... as N didn't exactly understand her need for vegetables and fruits.
"Y/N... Y/N..." The young woman perked up at the familiar voice, seeing her wendigo bound towards her from the fog... though he still very easily could scare her... she had gotten used to him... as it had been weeks since she left her home.
The big, terrifying beast.... Dropped a pink poppy at her feet, obviously looking for praise with the wag of his tail... She gave a little smile and laughed a bit.
"Thank you, N, that's very sweet... would you like me to put it in our home?" She asked, getting an excited nod as she put it into her quite poorly weaved basket... she was not a survival expert and these things do not come easily... there was a significant learning curve.
Anyways, Y/N had been decorating the den for weeks... as N likes to bring many different flowers and trinkets for his 'mate'.... She did not mind, as the act was sweet and it gave her something to do.
Other than eating and foraging... the days were not very stressful or exciting.... Her normal life of caring for the sick was gone... and she had yet to find other hobbies that would please her, living in the woods making that especially hard for her.
"Where going?" He asked.
"No, where are you going." She corrected him... they had been working on his English for a small while... as her simply speaking to him was enough entertainment... and Y/N felt learning what she spoke to him could not be a bad thing.
"Where are you going?" He corrected himself, speaking the sentence slower.
"The crab apple tree... they should be more ripe now..." She sighed, though she wasn't really allowed nor wanted to go wandering in the woods alone, she could leave by herself..... though N was always undoubtedly hanging around close or had only left to do his own thing for a few minutes... He never left her side... he didn't wanna leave her side... she was his precious little human... and he couldn't stand losing her, not after everything.
"Mngrrh... so sour..." He growled a little, having a heavy distaste for the small fruit.
"I know, but I can't live off of primarily meat like you do... I have to have vitamins and sugars and such."
"Vitamins?" He questioned.
"Vitamins... well, I'll just say I need them... they're in fruits... it's a long explanation." He just nodded a bit, not knowing what shes going on about.... But her voice was lovely to him, so he didn't mind~ He just followed beside her, low to the ground so he could be even closer.
"N...?" She asked, looking over to him, N tilting his head. "Can... you... get me a map? And some new clothing?" She asked... her dress was getting worn... and it wasn't fit for the cold.
"Yes... but... map?" He questioned.
"You... well... I'd like... to maybe look for a new village to live in? At least to see if they've heard of me, of you... so that I can figure out if I can move back into society." She explained, N immediately moved in front of her with a whine, getting his skull close to her face.
"Leave? Your leaving? No... no can't leave, can't leave! Named me... live with me... no village." He whined heavily, she gave a little cringe. "Well, no, I'd just live somewhere else... you can still visit..." She replied awkwardly, and if his face could move... she swore it would be crying... "But... but... wants to live with mate... and stay with Y/N always..." He licked her cheek lightly, scooting closer.
She cringed a little, feeling bad... he had done a lot for her... but he also was the reason she couldn't live in her village anymore...
"We'll see, N... I'm just not fit for out here... forever..." She rubbed his skeletal muzzle a little... the creature whining. "Okay..." He sighed, rising to his feet... continuing their walk to the tree in a sad silence...
He didn't want her to go... he... he couldn't let her go... he wasn't going to let her go... she's gonna get hurt by people again... he simply can't stand that...
