~ten months later~

Joshua grabbed his luggage and raced off the plane as quickly as he could. He held the power button on his phone and took it off airplane mode to check the time: 2:27am. A driver was thankfully waiting for him at the exit, and he was able to get in the car and head home right away. He'd been in Los Angeles for the last ten days shooting his new music video and doing press events for his new album, and he was ready to be back with his girlfriend again. He was grateful that traffic wasn't bad, seeing as it was the middle of the night on a Monday, so the drive didn't take as long as it usually would in a big city. Joshua flew out of the car with his things as soon as it was parked and headed for his floor. She's going to be asleep anyway, why are you in such a rush?, he thought to himself, but he still missed her. He shoved his key into the keyhole of the apartment, quietly slipping into the apartment. It was dark inside, aside from the light from the wax melter that Olivia insisted be turned on at all times. Joshua argued with her, saying that it was a potential fire hazard, and she compromised by agreeing to turn it off if she wasn't home. He set his stuff down on the floor in the living room, not wanting to drag it all into the bedroom where Olivia was more than likely passed out. He peeked at the clock on the stove, sighing as it was just after 3am. He was exhausted.

Joshua decided to take a quick shower, feeling dirty after working during the day and then traveling all night long. Going to bed without a shower was a major pet peeve of his. Once he was done in the bathroom, he slipped into the bedroom to find Olivia curled up and sound asleep, mostly on his side of the bed. He smiled, laughing quietly to himself. He pulled his pillow off the bed to go sleep on the couch, not wanting to wake up Olivia when he crawled into bed. He couldn't help himself though, from leaning down and pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek. He rose back up to his feet and headed for the living room.

"Babe?" Olivia's voice was quiet, he almost didn't hear her.

"Hi baby," he whispered back. "I didn't mean to wake you up."

"Come here," she told him, sitting up and holding her arms out to him. He sat himself down on the bed and wrapped his arms around Olivia, holding her tightly.

"I missed you so much," he said, pulling back so he could kiss her, her hands on either side of his face.

"I missed you too," she breathed against his lips. "Were you going to sleep on the couch?"

"Well, yeah," he nodded. "I didn't want to wake you."

"Stay in here with me," she said. "I want to hear all about your trip."

"Baby, you should get back to sleep. Don't you have class in the morning?"

After they had wrapped filming on season three and went back to Los Angeles, Olivia became restless there. She had moved out of her previous L.A. apartment and into a new one, something Joshua and her parents had convinced her to do. They didn't want her staying in a place that Adam knew he could find her at, and Olivia had to agree with them. Even in her new home, though, it didn't feel like a home to her. She was struggling with her music and was all around unhappy being back in Los Angeles. Her past with Adam haunted her there and she needed to get away. Not only that, but she needed a break from the Hollywood and the industry entirely. She'd decided on New York City, and while she certainly didn't need to go to college, NYU was her dream school and she'd always wanted to give college a try. The opportunity was there for her, and she decided to take it.

Joshua was surprised when she told him about her plans, but he was completely in shock when she asked him if he might want go with her. She had been so stubborn about moving in with Joshua permanently in Salt Lake or L.A., and now she was the one with the idea for the two to move across the country together. It didn't take Joshua any convincing to say yes. There was plenty for him to do there. The musical talent in NYC was incredible and there was no shortage of time or opportunities for him to continue progressing his music career. The pair had a lot of doubts about moving to NYC together, but decided to take the leap of faith. Olivia assured him every day that it was the best decision she'd ever made.

Joshua walked Olivia to campus the next morning as he usually did, stopping for coffee on the way. He kissed her goodbye when he dropped her off at her class with the promise of seeing her that evening for dinner. He rushed back to the apartment to grab his lunch before heading back out to the recording studio he'd been spending plenty of time at. When he returned home in the middle of a pretty violent rain storm, he found Olivia sat on the floor in the living room, surrounded by sheets of paper.

"Hey, Liv," he said to her as he set his things down near the front door. "Sorry I'm late, the rain was insane."

"It's okay," she smiled.

"What are you up to?"

"I'm just trying to organize all of this," she held up a few papers, Joshua noticing that they were pages of sheet music.

"Aha, I remember this one," Joshua said, picking up a sheet entitled "Apocalyptic Crush".

"I should rewrite that one about that bitch who wouldn't stop talking to you at the coffee shop this morning," Olivia joked.

"Aw, don't be jealous," he teased her, standing behind her and ruffling her hair.

"I'm not, but she should be," Olivia smirked, looking up at her boyfriend. "Do you wanna go for a walk?"

"It's still raining, Liv," Joshua told her, peeking out the curtains.

"Yeah, I kind of like it though. We have an umbrella."

Olivia won, as she usually did. She pulled on her rain boots and Joshua took his shoes out of the shoe closet. Olivia rolled her eyes, making a comment about how his feet were going to get soaked. She'd wanted him to buy a pair of rain boots with her when she got hers, but he had insisted it didn't rain enough in New York for him to dedicate an entire pair of shoes to rainy weather only.

Joshua held the umbrella in one hand and Olivia's hand in the other as they walked. The streets were fairly quiet for New York, most people already home from work and wanting to avoid the rain and the chilly October nights.

"Do you like it here?" Joshua asked Olivia after enjoying the comfortable silence for a while. They'd settled in early in the summer, spending those warm months exploring and getting used to their new home. Olivia started classes in late August and school had been going steadily for her over the next two months.

"Yeah, I do," she smiled. "It's so different."

"We should keep traveling."

"We've only been here a few months, Josh," Olivia reminded him.

"I know, I don't mean right now," he clarified himself. "But eventually."

"What did you have in mind?"

"I don't know, there's a lot of places that I want to go."

"We could plan a few trips for next year?" Olivia suggested.

"We should do one massive trip. We could travel the world all at once," Joshua offered another suggestion.

"You think so?" Olivia smiled, entertained by his desire for adventure.

"Yeah." He let go of Olivia's hand and used his free arm to wrap around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "We could do a huge three month trip around the world for our honeymoon."

"Oh?" Olivia stopped walking, surprised by his comment, but she couldn't hide her small smile that came with it. "Are we getting married?"

Joshua stopped walking and pulled Olivia close to him, the umbrella completely forgotten. He brushed a stray tuft of hair out of her face, his hand resting on her cheek as he pulled her into a kiss, the rain freely falling around them.

"Not yet."
