It didn't even occur to me that Ion would still be in the Code. The moment we got in the Code I quickly covered my eyes.
What I saw for a brief moment was Ion with her clothes torn and all tied up.
I heard shuffling and when I uncovered my eyes I saw Rye had Ion wrapped in a blanket. He whispered something into her ear and she could only nod.
I looked at Silica and she squeezed my hand. I squeezed hers and looked around.
The Code was the same as always, all pure white except for the broken parts of the wall that had been replaced by coding.
Rye pushed Ion forward and led her towards a chunk covered with code. Rye said, "Where's this lead to?"
Ion mumbled, "It leads to level 4...."
Rye slaps her and she falls to the ground. Silica hides her face in my shirt and I rub her back, looking down at her and not the scene. Rye shouts, "Speak louder!"
I feel Silica's tears hit my shirt and I keep rubbing her back. She seems so scared of Rye and I feel a little bad for Ion. I mean she deserves it for putting us here, but to go this far...
I heard dragging and looked up to see Rye dragging her down the hall towards another chunk. He looked irritated, "Next one."
Ion said in a normal, but fragile voice, "Level 6..."
Rye nodded and looked at us, "Level 6 guys! Lets go get Brad."
I picked up Silica in my arms and walked to the code. Silica buried her face into my neck and I jumped us through the code into more darkness.
