CHAPTER 11

Isabella

What was I thinking?! Why did I say that?? What if I'm not actually pregnant. I was panicking and the princess was still staring at me shocked.

"You can't be s-" Leyla was cut off by the princess putting her hand up. She slowly marched towards as I looked at her nervously.

"Well then let's call the doctor and see if you're really pregnant" she said, my heart dropped but I didn't say anything, I couldn't say no because that'll be a suspicious.

"Sure your highness" I bowed my head, she gave me a weird look and smirked.

"If you're not pregnant then you'll marry that man today and you'll leave with him as soon as possible" she said walking out the door, we followed her to my room. Leyla and her minions were there too, I laid on the bed and waited for the doctor to come. A few minutes an older woman walked in with a bag in her hand. She bowed to the princess and went straight to sit on the bed.

"Open your legs ma'am" she said, I was so embarrassed by this. Everyone was here staring while some random woman put her finger between my legs. I did as she said just closed my eyes so I won't have to look at any of them. I begged to the skies to save me this one time. A few minutes of her doing her thing and making me uncomfortable down there, she pulled her fingers away and washed them in a metal bowl filled with water that one of the maids offered her. She stood up started to gather her things, my heart started to beat so fast and I felt my hands shake with nervousness.

"Congratulations your highness, the girl is pregnant" the doctor said to the princess, I had to hold myself from screaming of happiness and laughed at all their faces. I smiled to myself and the princess sighed.

"Let her rest" she told everyone, she gave me a look leaving with her maids and Leyla on her tail. In your face, now we'll see what's going to happen once the empress finds out.

Shay

I was coming a week earlier than expected because the mission was so simple and easy to deal with like I predicted. I wanted to surprise them back at the castle.

It was later afternoon and I just arrived at the castle. The guards took my horse and I went inside while Rana went to talk with the guards to inform them of our arrival as well as to tell the women inside the castle.

I went to the bath directly, I need a good warm water and not the cold one that we take at the camps. I took my time washing myself with soap and warm water.

After I got dressed I went first to my mother's room. I opened the door and she was having a chat with Leyla. They both saw me and stood up to greet me.

"Mother" I kissed her hand and she hugged me kissing my head.

"I'm so happy you came back my dear" she said putting both her hands on her heart sighed in relief.

"My Lord" Leyla bowed with a small smile kissing my hand, I nodded at her and turned to look at my mom.

"How are you feeling mother" I said putting my hands behind my back, she sat back down and she just sighed.

"I'm doing alright just tired a little, but I do have some news for you. I'll let Isabella tell you" she brushed me off and told me to go playfully because she had stuff to discuss with Leyla. I chuckled and nodded my head.

I wonder what news Isabella has for me, I missed her very much. I'll call her to my room later tonight when I'm done with work. I have to go over the army's paiement papers because tomorrow is their payday.

After a few hours of using sealing wax on the letters and stamping them. I finally got to rest and call for Isabella.

"Guards!" I called, one of them open the door and walked in.

"Bring Isabella" he bowed and left me, I had time to put the important papers away in my drawer. The door open and the same guard walk in, I looked at him confused.

"My Lord, miss Isabella doesn't want to see you" he said, what does he mean she doesn't want to. What is this disrespectful behavior, I call for her and she doesn't want to come.

"What do you mean she doesn't want to?!" I yelled at him, he flinched and just said that she wasn't feeling alright.

I pushed past him and walked to Isabella's room, she has some explanation to do when I see her. I opened her door and she wasn't facing me, she was looking out the window.

"How dare you disobey me Isabella?! I call for you and you refuse to see me?" She didn't say anything she just kept ignoring me. I walked behind her and turned her body to face me.

I felt my blood boil at the sight of her bruised face, she had tears running down her face. She had scratches on her cheek and purple bruise on her jaw. I put my hand on her cheek and gently caressed it, she held my hand sobbed.

"I'm so ugly" she cried, I put my arm around her and pulled her closer to my chest.

"Who did this to you my love" I whispered, she pulled away and she looked at me with red eyes.

"Leyla...."
