Isabella
I was breastfeeding Nenad in my room while Carla was making my bed, we just woke up and we were waiting for the maids to bring our breakfast when Shereen rushed in inside my room.
"Shereen? Are you alright?" I asked her worried, her face was pale and she was shaking heavily. She side eyes Carla and she understood that she needs to leave. Carla bowed her head and left us alone. Shereen sat next to me and started to cry.
"I'm pregnant and I don't know what to do Isabella" she cried on my shoulder, so my suspicions were right.
"Shereen calm down and we'll figure out what to do okay?" I tried to calm her down by rubbing her hand gently. She wiped her tears and nodded her head.
"Who's the father?" I asked, I think I already know but I want her to confirm it.
"You promise you won't tell" I nodded my head,
"Rana..." I had to pretend that I was surprised so I gasped and she just started crying even more.
"No no that's alright Shereen, why don't you tell Shay? They're bestfriends and if you're in love with her then that's okay" I explained but that only made her shake her head no,
"I-I can't, I don't want to keep it. She's... It's complicated" my eyes widened, she wants to abort the baby.
"No Shereen. That's too dangerous, you can't do that. Why won't you keep it?" I asked again, she sighed. She looked like she was keeping a deeper secret that she didn't want anyone to know not even me.
"I can't tell you, but please I need to get rid of it" She begged,
"I'm sorry Shereen I can't do that, please rethink about this. You can just talk to Shay an-"
"No I can not! Rana is a traitor! She slept with Leyla for fuck's sake! She got her pregnant and now Rey is born while we all thought it's Shay's baby it was a stupid lie!" She yelled breathing heavily,
"Shereen you can't just go around telling people that" she gave me a confused look,
"You don't believe me?"
"No that's not what I meant" I tried to grab her wrist but she yanked it and rushed out of my room. So I am actually correct, it isn't my place to out this secret but I'm happy I got this precious information by my side.
"Carla!"
"Yes my lady?"
"I need you to find a maid who'll spy on Leyla, I need to know everything about what she does everyday" I went to my closet and unlocked it with a key I was given. I took a small sac of golden coins and handed them to her.
"And she better not get caught" I whispered, Carla smirked and bowed her head. My luck is getting better and better. I picked up Nenad and gently kissed her head.
"You'll be an empress, my little girl. Your mother will make sure of that" I whispered as she fell asleep in my arms.
Shay
I was in my room finishing the ring, I put the beautiful emerald in the middle and sighed in satisfaction at the outcome. It was so beautiful and it'll look amazing on Isabella's fingers.
The door opened and I looked up confused on who could walk in without permission. I'm not surprised my mother walked in looking upset.
"What is it?" I asked getting up, she sighed.
"Shay, your sister isn't okay. She's been depressed and she doesn't talk to anyone. I think you need to find her a husband"
"No!" I said,
"But Shay, she's so lonely. Who'll take care of her and her daughters?" She asked me, I mean I noticed the change in her behaviour but I don't think marrying her to another man will do her good. I don't trust any man go be good for her.
"Why would I marry her to a man mother? She's perfectly fine living in my castle." The only person I trust with my family is Rana and I can't just marry her to my sister without her acceptance.
"Rana is a good person, please think of your sister this time and not your empire" she said leaving the room. I sighed and sat back on my chair leaning on my palm, I does sound like a good idea to be honest. Rana is strong to protect Shereen and her kids as well as have her own kids.
"Guards!" They ran inside and waited for my order, I sighed.
"Call Rana and Shereen to my room immediately" they bowed and left. I waited for them for a while until I heard a knock. A very sick looking Shereen walked first then Rana followed her and she didn't look better either, she was spaced out and didn't even look at me.
"I called you here to tell you, that you're getting married" I said
"What?!" They replied at the same time, they looked at each other confused then back at me.
"I am NOT marrying her!" Shereen said with her arms crossed while Rana just stood there still stunned with the news.
"Yes you are and that's final" I didn't yell at her because I know she doesn't like that but I can only be patient for a little while.
"She's a- I am not marrying a woman Shay!" She yelled,
"What's wrong with that?" Rana asked, I didn't even know how to feel about this, she looked almost sad that my sister didn't want her.
"I don't want you to touch or look at me that's what's up" Shereen replied rolling her eyes,
"Well too fucking late because you're pregnant with my kid" Rana finally lost it, wait.
"What?!" I yelled, their eyes widened. So they've been having an affair behind my back. I felt my anger build up and I was shaking so hard and they both knew I'll kill someone.
"You slept with my sister!" I grabbed my sword from under the desk and put it to Rana's neck, Shereen tried to speak but I asked her to shut up.
"I trusted you and you went behind my back and fucked my sister Rana?" I whispered pressing the sword on her neck harder until she started to bleed. She didn't budge, she didn't talk, she just stared at me with hard look and tears running down her face. It was the first time in years I see her cry.
"Shay please, it was my fault too. I- I'm in love with her" Shereen cried putting her hand over mine that was holding the sword. I slowly took the blade off of Rana's neck and Shereen put a tissue on her neck to stop the bleeding, It wasn't a serious wound but it surely hurt.
"So you're pregnant. When were you going to tell me? After you give birth?" I aksed,
"No I was going to.." she looked at Rana for a second and then at the floor.
"...get rid of it" she whispered. Rana and I gasped at the same time, what the hell is going on in this castle.
"I can't fuckin believe you Shereen" Rana said,
"Both of you shut the fuck up and leave. You're getting married today, tomorrow you'll leave to another castle." I said turning my back them, I didn't want to do this but they need to learn their lesson.
"Shay p-"
"I said get out" I threw the sword on the ground still not looking at them. I heard the door open and close and that's when I sat on the bed with my head in my hands. What am I going to do...
