He squinted his eyes as he got up, the sun was bright and high up in the sky already. Ace must've stayed up late and slept in longer than usual, thanks insomnia. He got out of bed, and looked down, his bed was stained red, and he was wearing normal daywear clothes, which made matters even worse. Then the pain kicked in, oh the cramps. Cramps are terrible, why do they even exist. Ace grabbed just a random pair of pants that he didn't care about and ran to the bathroom. Ace hated when 'Satan's Niagra Falls' happened, it was annoying painful. Ace eventually decided to go outside and into the woods that surrounded his house, however he decided to grab his closest friend and second person he ever trusted, Crystal, to accompany him. He felt like something bad would happen out there, so he grabbed her just in case.

Ace and Crystal headed out, leaving a note on the table saying they were out in case if anybody was wondering where they went. They walked through the forest, Ace felt refreshed and was distracted from the pain of the cramps. Then, there was a creak, a loud one. Ace looked up, then he heard a crack. The branch came falling down, Ace jumped out of the way and Crystal sent a giant ice spike up out of panic.

Click.

Ace heard a noise come from somewhere behind him, a click, as if a camera has taken a picture. He also could've sworn he saw a slight flash, a camera flash. Looks like whoever was stalking them forgot to turn that off. Ace quickly got up and rushed over to Crystal.

"Did you see that?"

"See what?"

"The flash, and the click, I think it was a camera."

"So I wasn't imagining that, but why would somebody be taking pictures of us in the middle of the woods?"

"Oh I don't know, maybe because you sent some huge ice spike through a falling branch?" They then both stared at the direction the noise came from.

"Should we check it out?" Crystal insisted.

"Yes, but they may have gotten away by now, since it's been about a minute or two since it happened."

The two set off, in that direction, hoping they wouldn't run into anything wild, or another person strolling through the woods, most likely to hunt. Then they heard it, footstepts too heavy to be a squirrels or a rabbit's, too heavy to be a foxes, it could only be another human beings steps. Ace looked over and saw a vague sillohette of a person running through the trees, they didn't go very far.

"Stop, I think we've found them," Ace whispered

Crystal looked over, and Ace pointed to the direction he saw the person in. They started approaching, walking the way a hunter would so they wouldn't scare away their prey. Crystal peered through the thicket, and saw a person there. They had a pretty average appearence, brown hair, tanned skin, and they were wearing a simple grey jacket, or was it a hoodie? She couldn't tell, but that's besides the point. They were a very normal and average looking person. The person had their phone out, texting?.. Or were they just writing some sort of story? Crystal thought it'd most likely be texting because who writes a story on their phone in the middle of the woods? Anyways, she looked back over at Ace, only to realize that he was gone. Crystal looked around, but then she looked up at the tree next to her, and there she saw Ace.

"Why are you up there?" Crystal mouthed at Ace. He shrugged his shoulders. He looked over at the person, who was starting to put their phone away. Then Ace repositioned himself into a position that would be easier to slip from and land onto the ground as safe as possible. However, despite his efforts to not make noise, it still made enough rustling sounds to attract the persons attention. They looked up at Ace in shock, Ace just stared back, and then slipped off the tree. He conjured a small but thick bush to break his fall. Crystal ran over to see if he was ok. The phone person took out their phone again but Ace was quick to stop it. He sent out a vine to grab their hand, and they dropped their phone. Ace lowered his hand, while Crystal walked over and picked up the phone. It was unlocked, so she started looking through the photos. She saw multiple pictures of her, and everybody else in her group. Crystal started deleting all of the pictures to avoid anything being revealed about her or the rest. Then she remembered, the texting. She opened the messages app on their phone and saw that they has sent the pictures to somebody. As she started reading the texts, it seemed that it was a deal the person made. A deal that if they got enough evidence for the 'boss' they'd get a promotion of some sort. Hm.

By the time Ace had finished getting the person tied up with the vines, Crystal had finished going through the phone. She closed it and put it in her pocket. She walked over to where Ace was, and then the questioning began.
