The week was going by super fast. The next thing I know, it was already Thursday.
On the down side, the day before went by super slow because Sarah was sick. Despite the somewhat tragedy, I wasn't alone. I'm glad that I at least had Bella to hang with that day. She introduced me to the friends she made, and they seemed pretty nice. They made my day a lot better too, which I was happy about. The thing I wasn't all too happy about, was that it was a warm and sunny day.
It sucked that Sarah was sick. We lived in Washington, so we hardly ever got sunny days like this. If she was out and about, I could've taken her to the park, and taught her some volleyball tips. But.. I guess she had to be sick that day.
Like I said, Bella's friends were pretty cool, so I got my mind off of Sarah for a bit.
The next morning, I woke up early to go to the diner with dad. He wasn't really the cooking type, so thank god for the people there.
It was a Thursday, so he got free breakfast. I don't know why it was only on Thursdays, but hey, free food right? He brought both me and Bella, and I gladly scarfed down my food.
I don't know if it was the dry, washed up taste of the food back in Arizona that blinded me, or if it was the fact that I was just so hungry. Either way, I don't think it was any of those factors, these pancakes tasted like a goddamn miracle.
"Okay YUM" I said with my mouth still full.
"Amazing right?" Charlie remarked.
Cora, the woman who runs the diner, then began to walk over.
"Looks like Alex is enjoying my famous hotcakes" She says, a smile lingering on her face.
"And I just can't believe how big you've both gotten, and so gorgeous as well"
"Thank you" Bella says with a chuckle.
We then continue our conversation. The topics varied, but I'm glad Cora never brought up our mom. Cora was super nice, and I'm glad we she could keep the conversation going.
"So how are you liking Forks?"
I told her I was starting to warm up to it, and I saw Charlie smiling out of the corner of my eye. I'm glad he knew that Forks was growing on me. Bella, on the other hand, said nothing. She made friends with such great people, so doubt it would take her long to warm up to the town as well.
Just as I was thinking about them, they showed up.
"Psst, looks like your friends are flaggin' ya Bells" Charlie calls out.
"Oh that's just Mike" she replied, embarrassed.
"Ah the Newton boy.. Seems like a good kid."
"Yeah, he's a good buddy." Bella says.
"Well uh.. you two go along, school starts soon anyway." He tells us.
Bella then goes on to say, "SHIT we're gonna be late!"
While rushing out the diner door, both Bella and I shouted "Love you!" in unison, and left to go to school with Mike.
Soon enough, we pulled up to the highschool.
"Hey, you comin' Swan?" Mike asked.
Bella's new friends called me by my last name, and Bella, well.. Bella. I kinda like it though. In the few days I was introduced to them, they sometimes called me Alex, but mostly Swan- my last name of course. I was glad they were all so welcoming of the both of us as well as glad that they warmed up to us so fast. We were all friends just like that, even though I was a Freshie.
