Suddenly woke up in the middle of the night to the village folk screaming. I quickly jumped off the bed and put my helmet on. Yuki and Lunime where already awake getting ready. "How long have the two of you been up?" I asked as I held Hazirawn in my hand. "We woke up about two minutes ago." Zaileon and Zamali where quickly put of their room as they where prepared. "Did you guys not look outside?!" Zamali shouted as Yuki and I ran to the window.
We saw a horde of undead creatures attacking the village. "Let's go handle this." I spoke as we ran out of the Inn. We saw wretches, skeletons and a few zombies scattered all over the village. "Zamali you go for the skeletons. Zaileon take out the the zombies. Yuki, Lunime and I will take care of the wretches since they are the largest group." I ordered as everyone nodded. Yuki, Lunime and I quickly ran over to a small group of five wretches as I quickly swung Hazirawn. Yuki was quick to shield me and Lunime from any up coming attacks.
" Low tier magic... Arms of hadar." Lunime quickly chanted as two pairs of arms emerged from the ground. The arms stretched out and grabbed a wretch in each hand. They crushed the wretches as the last one that remained I cleaved into two. We quickly rushed to another group of wretches this group being larger containing eight wretches.
"First level mid tier magic control flames!" Yuki chanted as all the torches in the village went out. The fire of the torches was now under Yuki's full control as he transformed the flames into a flaming sword. Yuki attacked swiftly as he seared two wretches to death. I quickly wide swung Hazirawn as three wretches where bisected. Lunime's magical arms he grabbed the last three wretches as he whispered. "Burning touch." The wretches where quickly ignited into flames as they began to turn to ash.
I looked over at Zamali and saw her destroy the last skeleton. I looked over at Zaileon and saw he was having issues with the zombies. "Lunime and Zamali go back up Zaileon!" I shouted over the panicked screams of the village folk. Lunime looked at Yuki as Yuki gave him a strong nod. Yuki and I ran over to the skeletons and quickly stooped on their heads to make sure none of them resembled. We heard a scream from Lunime as we saw he was being grabbed by a strangely big zombie. Zamali and Zaileon where cornered by four large zombies.
Yuki and I quickly rushed over as I slashed Hazirawn at the one grabbing Lunime. It's hand was quickly got off as it dropped Lunime onto the floor. I quickly picked him up off the floor and held him on my back. "Hold on tight kid!" I loudly told Lunime as he held onto my neck tightly. I trusted my sword into the zombie's stomach as it groaned and looked at me. From the corner of my eye I was able to see Yuki slashing his flaming magical sword at the four muscular zombies.
I quickly tried to disable the zombie as it suddenly grabbed my arm. It tried to push me away as I suddenly shoved him back and grabbed onto its forearm. I roughly grabbed it's jaw and forced it's lower jaw off. I stuck Hazirawn into the center of the, zombies skull as it slowly went limp. I pulled my sword out as I rushed to Yuki's aid. "Yuki, Zamali, Zaileon I need all three of you to duck!" I shouted as they all ducked low to the ground. "Third level low tier magic Haste!" I quickly chanted as I quickly ran and cleaved the remaining zombies in half.
I quickly caster dispel magic on myself as the haste spell was quickly canceled out. "Thanks for the save Inei." Yuki nervously smiled as we all took a heavy sigh. The village folk quickly stopped hiding as they all came out to see what had happened. "My goodness we where saved by the sun hero and the cursed hero!" a women happily exclaimed as a man added "Thanks to them and their party the village as saved!" I looked at the others and saw that they where a bit confused on what was goings on.
"Are we being thanked for saving them?" Yuki whispered to me as I answered back. " I think so.." Yuki chuckled softly as he whispered back. "Let's just soak in this small bit of glory Inei. I don't think we will be getting much of it you know." Yuki smiled as I responded "Agreed..." Lunime seemed tired and out of mana as he yawned while he held onto my neck. He softly nuzzled the cloak Yuki had given me as he was quick to fall asleep.
"Thank you for saving our village, we are very grateful. Our village is usually ignored by most adventures and they don't usually try to help. You all have our sincerest of thank you." The village mayor bowed his head as he then stood up. "Can this continue after we get some sleep...." Zamali yawned and the mayor quickly stuttered an answer. "Why yes of course! You should all rest and we can talk in the morning."
We all went back to the Inn all except Yuki who stayed behind checking for anything he could use for potions. Right when we entered the room the twins where quick to go to their room and go back to sleep. I softly grabbed Lunime off of my back and took him to Yuki's room. I softly laid him down on Yuki's bed as I pulled the blanket over Lunime and tucked him in. Right when I was about to exit the room I saw Lunime squirm and kick at nothing.
I walked over to Lunime as he squirmed and cried softly. Not knowing what to do I opened the window and tossed a small pebble at Yuki. I motioned him to rush over as he quickly ran into the Inn. I shut the window as Yuki rushed into the room. I silently pointed at Lunime as Yuki sighed softly. "He's been having what I assume nightmares." I tilted my head as I looked at Lunime. "So this happened the first time you both went to sleep?" I asked Yuki softly as Yuki nodded.
"It wasn't this bad last time since he just grabbed onto me and called down." Yuki softly added as he softly sat down next to Lunime. "Hey Inei... I know this would be a rather strange question to ask you... But, I'm curious. Do you feel sympathy for the people around you?" Yuki asked as I quickly replied. "Yes I do... I only feel sympathy for those who need it. Not for those who don't." Yuri nodded at my answer as he seemed to be satisfied with the answer. "Hey Yuki... Why do you treat Lunime as if he where your own son. I mean I would treat him the same way you treat me." I said as Yuki smiled.
"So you would treat him as not just a partner nor a friend but a brother?" Yuki asked as I nodded. "The reason I treat him as if he where my own is because I think everyone deserves to be treated the same. It doesn't matter their race, background, or where they are from. All that matters is that they work hard and learn to have fun and live life to its fullest potential. Just as much as I believe that everyone deserves a second chance at life. It doesn't matter what crimes they've done none of that matters to me. As long as they know that they can get up and turn a new page in their story." Yuki spoke as his wise words slightly motivated me.
Suddenly Lunime screamed and reached out for someone or something. He ended up hugging Yuki as Yuki softly hugged him back. "Hush... It's okay Lunime your safe..." Yuki hushed Lunime as he clung onto Yuki. "I'm surprised he isn't a father... He has everything a great father would need. " I thought to myself as I heard Yuki's voice in my head. "Awe you think so pal? Thanks for the compliment however I'm not really interested in having children yet. I don't think I'm the type of guy any girl would want." Yuki chuckled out loud is I softly snickered. "Whatever you say pal, whatever you say.." I telepathically told Yuki as the connection broke once I walked out of the room.
I took off my helmet and got comfortable once again. This time instead of taking a while to fall asleep I was quickly able to doze off to sleep.
