"Checking in, X-Jet," Jubilee called from the control center.

Amara continued to power everything on as Peter spoke.

"Copy. Checking scanners for... rascals playing basketball."

Once Amara properly started up everything she needed, she turned to glance at Peter.

"We're all clear, here," he murmured.

"You're clear to go."

Instantly, Amara pressed the buttons to open up the basketball court above them, then began raising the jet into the air. There wasn't any hesitation as both of the mutants silently piloted the jet into the air and kicked in the thrusters to propel the plane almost to its maximum speed.

"Okay, here is your plan," the Professor began through the comms. "We have a general idea of where this base is, but not its exact location. What we do know is that there are two large trucks carrying ten mutant children they have recently abducted, with five military trucks in the front and another five in the back. Each military truck is carrying five people, all armed and loaded. Your job is to take out the military personnel and follow the truck with the children to their base, where you will free the rest of the mutants and bring them on the plane."

"And the base?" Peter asked.

"Once you have cleared the building - remember, with little to no injuries and absolutely no deaths - we will send the team back to scope for information. Your job is to focus on the lives of these children, nothing else."

"Copy," she responded.

"The idea is that if we attack all these locations simultaneously, we can overwhelm them and leave them to fight with no reinforcements. Your attack must begin at the same time as everyone else's."

"When will that be?"

Amara blinked as a map appeared on the screen on the dashboard between the two of them.

"Jean and Scott are already in position, as are Raven and Hank. Ororo and Kurt are minutes away - they all await your arrival."

"We'll be there in less than ten minutes," Peter murmured, glancing at the map.

"What's our plan of attack?"

"Peter is to go in first and stay with one of the trucks. See if you can get any intel. Aya is to follow and you both will attack the base when you have gotten there. I left the bike for you in the back."

"Copy. Anything else?"

"Jubilee will stay with you. Please try to keep this professional, and leave as little mess as possible. Good luck to you both."

Charles's voice disappeared and was replaced with Jubilee's, and after she confirmed everything was okay, she stopped talking, and the ride went silent. Amara kept her eyes on the controls in front of her and the water out the front windshield.

She didn't engage in any conversation - she was good at keeping quiet. The same could not be said for this mission's partner.

"Can I ask you something?"

Amara didn't respond. She only pressed the button that told her exactly how much longer the ride was (much longer than she would've liked).

"So, what, are you going to ignore me the whole time?"

Again, she stayed silent.

"Aya-"

"For fuck's sake!"
