We went days, weeks, I lost count, without food or water. I fought to stay awake through the dehydration and hunger, and the aching in my arms, as I tried to think of a way to break out and escape, but the dreariness made it next to impossible. No one came down below deck , during the period we where down there, and the rain showed no sign of stopping and it was always dark outside. I wanted to sleep to never wake up, I was exhausted, as I felt my eyelids begin to shut, footsteps thundered down the stair case. My eyes sprang open and laid open the dark haired Illyrian as he looked behind him before making his way toward me. I glared at him as he stood before me, towering over me.

"Oh, good so you remembered we're still down here, well that's a relief, for a second I was worried you had forgotten us, seeing as you haven't fed us for Mother knows how long."

He didn't respond just fished a knife out of his boot and held it in his charred hand. I looked down at it and scoffed.

"You going to kill me now? go ahead, it's not going to do you any good."

He stared me down before bringing his knife up and holding it a centimetre from my throat.

"I'm not going to kill you, not yet, first I want something from you, answers."

I raised my eyebrow at him, amused. "And what possible answers could I have that would be useful to you, good sir?" I asked, sarcastically.

"One of the other prisoners, said they saw you, watching, surveying the boat you were on, as if you where looking for something, or someone, they thought you might be the spy we where looking for."

I shook my head ruefully, a humourless smile, playing on my lips. "And what do you think?"

He watched me careful, as if he where examining me before saying, "I think you are a spy, but not for Hybern, one of the courts, or the army," he looked at me, probably expecting me to laugh, though I was too drained to care, before he continued, "I saw how you jumped in front of that girl to protect her and how you where able to move with speed and stamina, not just any mortal could do that."

I rolled my eyes at him, him and his arrogance. "Clearly you just underestimate us, we're stronger then you think." He shook his head in annoyance, before saying, "are all mortal women, where you come from so opinionated?"

"Are all Illyrian men so ignorant?"

He stepped closer, growling. "Where you born a bitch or was that by choice?"

"Where you born a prick or was that by choice?"

He brang the knife to the skin on my neck and bit into it slightly.

"I won't ask you again, are you a spy or not?"

I just stared at him and, despite the pain now coming from the middle of my neck, I smiled a cold, playful smile.

"If I didn't know better I'd say you where looking for a reason not to believe I might be part of Hybern's spy's, I think your looking for a reason to spare me, or you just feel bad, about sending me to my death."

He stared me down before shaking his head slightly.

"I feel nothing for you."

I chuckled lightly, before saying, "well, I guess that makes you good at your job then doesn't it?"

We stood there for a moment glaring at each other, before removing his knife from the place on my neck, leaving a trail of blood running down my shirt.

"It does." He said quietly before leaving me behind as he walked up the stairs. I wanted to shout an insult at him, call him every foul name I could think of, but I didn't get the chance because not a moment later the ship was hit and I flew sideways, banging into a pole as the ship rocked, viciously and I knew we where in the middle of a storm.
