The Double Edged Sword

Chapter Two

Adrien is hesitant to look up at the person calling his name in a menacing tone and hears footsteps stomping towards him; he bursts open the door and runs over to his seat almost tripping and falling; the class looks at Adrien in a confused way as they look towards the doorframe to see... Luka coming in. The whole classes face lights up in excitement, "Hey!! It's Luka!! Omg!!" Luka looks over to the class and gives them an adorable innocent smirk "Good morning guys!" As Luka walks past Adrien's seat he slyly hands him a note and sits down next to Marinette who was waiting for him and gave her a peck on the cheek. Luka Glanced over at Adrien and gave him a nasty look wiping away that charming look that everyone loved. "Awwwhhh you two have gotten so much more cuter during the summer!" Alya says while Marinette blushes and hides her face and Luka smirks. "Thanks Alya. But you and Nino are just as cute as us! We should go on a double date to the theatres this weekend! We can watch something super scary!" Luka exclaims while winking at Alya cause both Nino and Marinette are scaredy cats. Marinettes face turned white and she yells  "OH PLEASE NOT A SCARY MOVIE!! YOU KNOW I DON'T LIKE THEM!" She gives Luka a punch to the arm which surprisingly hurt for a girl who is 5'0 and 87 lbs, Luka and Alya laugh. Adrien looks up at Marinette and her friends laughing about their conversation and smiles at her beauty as she's laughing and smiling, his smile fades away as he grabs the note Luka gave him out of his pocket and opens it up. Adriens face frowned even more as he read what Luka wrote to him. " The next time you even so breathe next to Marinette. I won't hesitate to make you pay for it. You don't want a repeat of what happened last time do you? Then be a good little rich spoiled brat and STAY. AWAY. FROM. MARINETTE. " Adrien has a chill that ran up his spine remembering what Luka did to him just for Marinette asking him to borrow his eraser in class and him replying back. Of course Luka knows Adrien has a crush on Marinette, he and Luka used to be childhood best friends but 10 years ago Luka had gone through some serious truma as a result to him acting the way he is now to Adrien. He threatens him because Adrien knows his secret, but Adrien feels and understands him so he doesn't say anything and gives Luka his space but it still hurts him badly to see how Luka treats him. Adrien looks down towards the floor remembering tons of  ways how Luka treats him horribly when a sleepy little kwami pokes his head out of his book bag and gives him a smile; Adrien starts to feel better and pets Plaggs head and crumbled up the note and shoves it in his bag. As the bell for school is over all the students walk towards the door together and into the locker room; Adrien lost in a train of thought thinking about he's dreading to go home and seeing his father, bumps into Marinette and accidentally knocks her to the floor. "OH!! I'm so sorry!" Says Adrien and immediately gives his hand to her to help her up. "Haha! Ouch that kinda hurt. You're more muscular and hard than you look!"..... Marinette realizing what she said immediately starts jumbling on her words "I-I-I-I-I-I MEAN YOU JUST HAVE MORE OF A STRONG FIGURE THATS ALL!! LIKE A STATUE!!! UH I MEAN JUST A STRONG STURDY POLE!!" A moment of silence happens between the two of them as they listened to Marinettes funny rambling and immediately break into laughter and Adrien pulls her off the floor. " Hey I hope I didn't hurt you. I was just lost in thought about something!" Adrien says while still laughing "Nope! I'm okay! Didn't hurt. I'm more sturdy than I look too!" She giggles. As they chitchat Luka walks around the corner to them and his smile fades as he sees Adrien talking to Marinette; Luka walks over to them and fake smiles "Hey! Mari, did you want to go out and get some lunch now. I'm starving from so much homework and studying" Luka says to Marinette and looks down to her; "yeah! Sure I'm pretty hungry myself. I'll see you later Adrien!" Marinette smiles and grabs her things and heads towards the door looking at Luka "Aren't you coming?" Luka looks away from Adrien and says to Marinette "Yeah yeah in a minute I just wanna grab my stuff, wait outside for me will ya" Marinette nods and heads out leaving Adrien and Luka alone in the locker room. Adrien feels his chest tightening and his throat dry up as he knows what's about to happen to him. "I THOUGHT I SAID TO STAY AWAY FROM HER? DID YOU THINK I WAS JOKING WITH YOU?? DID YOU NOT TAKE ME SERIOUSLY????" Luka booms and punches Adriens stomach dropping him to the floor. "IM SORRY!!! I-I-I I bumped into her on accident!! I swear! I wouldn't talk to her on purpose!!" Adrien says looking up at Luka while he holds his stomach. Holding back tears from how much it hurts. Luka looks at him for a solid 10 seconds before his already angry face turns livid. "You. Bumped. Into. Marinette?" He snarled. Luka proceeds to do few more blows to Adrien and kick him away from him.  " You disgusting pig. How dare you lay your hands on my Marinette?! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU MORON!!" Luka shouts at Adrien while Adrien is choking back tears from pain and dust getting in his eyes "Next time you touch her again, on purpose or on accident. I'm gonna fucking drown you until you almost die" Luka says as he walks away wiping away dirt on his shirt and grabs his book bag and heads towards the doors to the leave the room. As Adrien sits alone in the locker room he begins to sit up and wipe away the dust in his eyes and clothes and stands up and reaches down to get his book bag where Plagg flys out of it shouting "ADRIENNNNN ARE YOU OKAY!!!" Plagg gives him a worried look as Adrien lifts his shirt to show some fresh bruises and says "No Plagg. I'm not okay.....I..... I just wish things would be different for me. I wish Luka didn't hate me. I wish father loved me!! I wish mom were here!!! AT LEAST I KNOW MOM LOVES ME!!" He angrily grabs his bag and starts heading towards the exits before a black blurr follows him and stops him in his tracks . "Hey hey hey!! What's all this about love? Your father loves you!!..... he just doesn't know how to show it, And hey! I love you lots!! You pet me give me cheese! And best of all you give me lots of love too!" Plagg says lovingly. Adrien looks down at the floor before his scowl went away and a faint smile came up "yeah... I guess you're right! I love you a lot Plagg! You are the best thing that's happened to me!" As he gives him a head rub and opens his jacket for Plagg to fly inside. Adrien walks towards the car before he hears a voice call for him in the pouring rain Adrien turns around to see Marinette running towards him frantic and in tears. "H-h-help!!" She chokes while sobbing "w-w-what happened?!" Adrien says; Marinette manages to form a sentence "ITS LUKA!! He's been hit by a car!!"
