Chapter Four

Adrien takes a second to recollect himself then looks up towards his Father "I'm sorry father! I was on my way to the car after school was finished when my classmate Marinette, came to me upset. My other classmate had been hit by a car and was in serious condition! I couldn't just walk away!" Adrien shouts back at his father. While a now intimidated Marinette hides behind Adrien; Gabriel glances at Adrien and then at his classmate, "That doesn't explain why that thing is in our house" he says while looking back at his son. Adrien letting out a sigh of relief that his father wasn't going to shout at him for something that was out of his control glances at Marinette and then his Father " well kind of a long story butttt the classmate that was hit by a car was Marinettes boyfriend, she was supposed to stay at his house tonight but because he's in the hospital and her parents are out of town for the night, she needed a place to stay.... And I didn't want to leave her alone in the rain at 7 pm!" Adrien says while waiting for his Father to explode over the words coming out of his mouth. Gabriel starts to walk down the stairs towards Marinette and Adrien both of them tense up. Gabriel walks up to them ruffles Adrien hair and proceeds to cover Marinette with his blazer   "My apologies for being so rude, Marinette? Was it? I've had a long day and was worried when Adrien did not come home. Do you have fresh clothes to change into so you don't get sick? I can send someone to go buy you some clothes." Gabriel says while bringing out his phone to call his assistant Nathalie; Marinette looks up at Gabriel towering over her; "Oh not to worry! I have a fresh change of clothes to wear!" Marinette chuckles nervously "uh thank you so much for the blazer I'm freezing! Although isn't this crazy expensive? Am I not ruining it with my wet clothes?" Gabriel shakes his head and says "Not to worry, I can always get it dry cleaned. You best go up to Adrien's room and shower and warm up. He should have clean towels and a hair dryer to dry your hair so you don't get sick." Marinette starts to head up to Adrien's room when she looks back to see Gabriel holding a hand on Adrien's shoulder stopping him in his tracks, "Adrien will join you in a minute. Go ahead and start washing up, Dinner will be served in an hour." Marinette nervously nods somehow feels guilty for getting Adrien in trouble. Adrien looks at his Father before he could fully turn around he gets a strike across the face knocking him to the ground "W-why?" Adrien says holding his face and looking up at his Father "I thought you weren't upset! Why are you mad now?!" He shouts. Gabriel bends down to Adrien's eye level and grabs his shirt lifting him up and off the ground entirely. "If you think you can make it a habit that you come home late and bring home FRIENDS then I will make you pay dearly" Gabriel says as he drops Adrien to the floor and begins to walk away " as soon as that girl finishes up I want you to wash up as well. I don't want you getting sick for your big day tomorrow" Adrien stands up and alert "WAIT!! WHAT?? What big day?? What's happening tomorrow? I need to see my classmate that was injured tomorrow!" Adrien says to his Father. Gabriel looks at him and says "well. You can't go tomorrow, you and I have a meeting with someone to see if I can finally get some business in the United States for my clothing line. If I do then it will be a good investment for us. It is very important and I have a suit in your closet all ready for you tomorrow. If you dare try to disobey me or ruin this for me. I will not hesitate to kick you out!" He walks away leaving a distraught Adrien alone in the main entrance way, Adrien eyes begins to well up in tears from his stressful day when he gets to his room door to hear singing, Adrien raised an eyebrow and decides to lay his ear on the door. Plagg comes flying out, "hey! What are you doing? You know eavesdropping is not good and an invasion of privacy!!" Plagg says and crosses his arms. "Shhh! Plagg!!" Adrien whispers "Marinette is singing to herself! Listen with me! " he ushered and Plagg couldn't help himself to some tea so he raised an ear to the door as well.
MARINETTES POV
Marinette who had just finished her shower and gotten dressed and had a towel on her head begins to break out in song and dance with Tikki, Marinette grabs her hair brush and starts singing "How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I'm just doing what comes naturally! How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I'm just following my destiny! How ba-a-a-ad can I be? I'm just doing what comes naturally! How ba-a-a-ad can I be? How bad can I possibly be?" She spins around and puts the mic {hair brush} under tiki to sing and Tikki shouts "Well there's a principle of nature
That almost every creature knows.
Called survival of the fittest And check it this is how it goes. The animal that eats gotta scratch and fight and claw and bite and punch. And the animal that doesn't, Well the animal that doesn't winds up someone else's lu-lu-lu-lu-lunch, I'm just sayin'!" Marinette and Tikki both laugh at their little concert when she hears a stifled laugh coming from the door and immediately goes red and runs to Adrien's bathroom to dry up her hair "TIKKI!" Marinette grabs her face and hides in embarrassment "you don't think he heard us sing, right? I HOPE HE DIDN'T HEAR YOU SING!!" Marinette face turns into horror at the thought. Tikki laughs and flys up to Marinette "relax! If he did just say you're doing an impressive imitation of a leprechaun!" She says to Marinette and gives her a pat on the head. "Now if you don't mind I think I want to head to bed, I'm gonna sleep in the towel closet! I'll sleep in the back so he doesn't see me, goodnight Marinette" Marinette looks at Tikki and gives her a kiss on the head, "goodnight!"
BACK TO ADRIEN POV
Adrien and Plagg both laugh at Marinettes little concert "she can sing well too! You have a great choice lover boy" Plagg teased Adrien shushes him as he hears foot steps coming towards the door and immediately backs up. Marinette opens the door and they lock eyes for a minute before Adrien speaks up, so you mind moving aside so I can shower Adrien says Marinette; lost in thought thinks to himself "Was Adrien always this... Handsome?" She looks at Adrien's messy wet hair and clothes and back at him before she snaps out of if and says "I-I-I ! YEAH!! Haha sorry!" She moves aside and walks to Adrien's bed to sit. Adrien looks at her and says "I won't be too long! By the time I'm done dinner should be ready!" She nods. Adrien shuts the door, "I wonder why she stared at me like that" Adrien looks at Plagg "do I have something on my face?" He says worryingly. "Yeah you do." Plagg says Adrien immediately panics "WHAT? Why didn't you tell me Plagg! What's on my face?!" Plagg laughs and says to him "Silly! You have a smile on your face! You always look so sad, hardly ever smile, That's why she was staring at you!" Adrien blushes at what Plagg said and begins to undress to shower. He lifts his shirt to expose some nasty bruises done by Luka, and a fresh new bruise now done by his temperamental father. "These are not looking so good" he says as his smile now fades back to his usual sorrowful look. Plagg also now frowning "I'm sorry kid, I'm sure it'll heal up quick soon enough!" Trying to cheer Adrien up. Adrien gave him a weak smile and says to him. "Yeah, I'm sure they will" he heads in and showers. Few minutes go by and he's dressed and now towel drying his hair. "It feels nice to be warm and dry again!" he says while almost cuddling his towel. He looks over to see Plagg fast asleep on the counter "I guess you must've had a long day huh Plagg. " Adrien lifts him up and also puts him in the back of the towel closet and shuts it and heads out the bathroom. Plagg gets warmed up on some towels when he opens his eyes for a brief moment and now goes wide eyed and awake, "TIKKI?!" He practically shouts.
