Levi Pierce had always prided himself with being a man in absolute control of himself. He was a former SEAL, for God's sake. He was highly skilled, lethal and had been efficient in his job. He could kill a man and eat a goddamn sandwich with the same emotional detachment. His teammates had credited him with being one tough motherfucker and as their leader he'd had to be.

He'd had to be stronger, faster and smarter than the average man otherwise he'd have gotten himself killed. Or worse, lost his men and he couldn't have accepted that. He'd had many successful missions in extremely dangerous territories. He had brought down and apprehended countless terrorist groups all without breaking a sweat. But damn, this one woman! She'd always been able to twist up his insides with just a single look.

As soon as he left the building, he got into his car and drove out of the school parking lot. He was late for a meeting with some very important investors so he drove faster than he usually did. But all his thoughts were on Claire. He had wanted her from the first day he'd seen her all those years ago. There was something about her, something in those light eyes that drove him near insane with wanting her.

He remembered how she'd always seemed withdrawn and reserved. He had figured it was because her mother was a hooker who'd been screwed by nearly every dick in town. When Phil had told that story about him paying Claire for sex, Levi hadn't believed it. He'd known Philip for years and the bastard was an all time pro at bullshitting. Still, in the back of his mind he'd known that it was possible, what did they say about the apple not falling far from the tree!

But that still hadn't meant shit to him though, it certainly hadn't made him stop wanting to fuck her every time he saw her. That blasted day in that barn he'd finally acted on his perpetual hunger for her and kissed her. He had been furious with his father who had just chewed his ass out and he hadn't been able to stop himself. She'd been a perfect and convenient outlet for his frustration and lust.

Man, how sweet she'd been! All open and responsive to his every touch and caress. He would have given his left nut to bury himself deep inside her warm creamy centre. He had no doubt in his mind that he could have had her that day had it not been for his big mouth. After she'd brushed him off and left him the hardest he'd ever been he'd cursed her to hell and back for messing with his head the way she did. He hadn't seen her seen then.

He had left for BUD/S training the next day on his twenty fourth birthday. He'd initially joined the Navy to piss his father off. After his older brother Peter had died during a tour in Nam when Levi had been fourteen his father had completely changed. The grief had permeated his soul and had left him dark and empty inside. He hadn't seemed to give a damn that he still had a wife and another kid who depended on him. It was like he had died the day Peter had.

Granted his brother had always been their father's favourite son because Levi had always been too wild and stubborn to follow anybody's orders. It had still hurt to no end that no matter what he did he had never been able to bring back the light into his father's eyes. All through out his high school and college days his father had acted as if he didn't exist. The only attention he'd shown him was when he had told him that he wanted to join the Navy. He'd only said it to see if he could get any reaction out of the old timer and boy had he ever!

His father had told him in no uncertain terms that if he went, he could kick rocks and get lost along the process. That alone had enraged him. His father hadn't shown an ounce of interest in anything that he had ever done. Not any of the sporting awards he had won, not his impressive academic achievements, nothing! And it wasn't like he had suddenly started giving a shit then. He only hadn't want him joining the navy because of how Peter had died not because he really cared about his well-being.
