War had ripped families away from each other, leaving tons of mourners in its wake. Men being sent back in boxes, grieving widows left to support their families. The men who came back alive were plagued with nightmares, keeping them away all night, unable to cope. While the boys were away fighting for their king, women stepped up and filled the plate. Things ran smoothly, only a few bumps that lasted a while, only to be patched up in no time.
Delilah Murphy was the exception. She drifted to Birmingham alone, no trouble able to follow her around, or so she thought. She had met Polly Gray after building a reputation for herself, the woman taking a liking to the blonde immediately. Polly enjoyed the snarky nature of the girl, knowing that she would match up to the attitudes of the Shelby boys. Pol also enjoyed the fact the girl had a reputation following her around the narrow streets of Small Heath, wanting to use that to her advantage. The Peaky Blinders had marched their way into the heart of Delilah, taking control and dragging her to the depths of hell.
But she was already there.
