It was already noon when Dean woke up in his bed. A sharp pain shot through his head as he tried to straighten up. "Oh, shit," he cursed and let himself fall back on the pillow.
He closed his eyes and was suddenly startled when a voice next to him said: "Hello Dean."
"Damn it, Cas. I told you not to do that," said Dean, slightly annoyed.
The angel looked at him: "Sorry."
Dean sighed: "Cas, what do you want?"
"Talk to you, Dean."
Dean rolled his eyes: "About what?"
"About you, about Maddy, about the mark." replied the angel.
"There's nothing to talk about, Cas."
Dean got up and went towards the door as he continued: "And now please excuse me. I need a shower, a coffee and then I have to work. Do you remember? Metatron? The scribe of God? That guy, who knows how I can get this thing rid of my arm? "
Cas was about to reply to something when Dean had already disappeared from the room. He stayed behind with a thoughtful expression, sighed, and disappeared as well.

A few days later, Maddy was sitting in a cafe with Bucky, when her cell phone rang.
It was Sam, Dean's brother. Before she could say anything, he started talking: "Maddy, I need you. You have to come to the bunker. Something has happened."
Maddy looked at Bucky with fear on her face: "What's going on, Sam?"
He stuttered: "Dean is a demon"
Maddy was startled: "What? A demon? Sam? How is that possible? What happened"
Sam was silent for a moment, then he said: "Please just come to the bunker, then I'll tell you everything, okay?"
Maddy agreed, hung up, and got up.
Bucky looked at her puzzled: "What's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost. Is everything all right, honey?"
Maddy frantically put on her jacket: "I have to go to Sam in the bunker. Dean is ... Dean is a demon."
"A demon? What the hell? Ok, let's go then," he replied and also got up.
She was about to protest when he raised his hand and said: "You don't think I'll let you go there alone? Your whole body is shaking. Look at you. No, that's out of the question."
Maddy nodded. They paid the bill, went to Maddy's car, and made their way to the bunker.

When they arrived, Sam was waiting for her. Maddy noticed him looking at Bucky and started to explain: "He didn't want to let me drive alone. I was too nervous."
Sam nodded and started: "I don't know what to do, Maddy. We were working to get rid of Dean's mark when he met Metatron in a backyard. You know, God's scribe?"
Maddy nodded and he continued: "The two got into a fight, Dean was about to lose consciousness, but then Metatron drew his angel blade in and pushed it into Dean's chest."In shock, Maddy covered her mouth with her hand. She was trembling all over: "Oh God, Dean."
Bucky put his palm on her shoulder while Sam continued: "I tried to save him, Maddy. But I couldn't. He was dead, you know? Dead."
Maddy started to cry: "And then what happened Sam?"
He lowered his head: "I tried to summon Crowley, wanted to ask him for help. I just didn't know what to do next. Well, he already found out about it. I placed Dean in his bed and he went to him. He put the first blade into Dean's hand and this made him become a Demon. And now he's out with Crowley. They were last seen in a bar, in Killdeer. We have to turn him back, Maddy."
Maddy turned around on the spot: "I have to go to him," but Bucky held her arm."Wait, let's not rush anything."
Sam nodded, "He's right Maddy."
"I need to talk to him guys. Please."
Sam and Bucky looked at each other, then Sam replied: "Okay, but we'll come with you."
Maddy agreed and so all three made their way to where Dean and Crowley were last seen. At the bar in Killdeer.

Once there, they entered the bar. Crowley was sitting at the counter and was already waiting for them. "There you are," he greeted her with a mock smile.
"Crowley, where is Dean?" Maddy wanted to know directly.
"Oh, don't be in a hurry, honey. Isn't there any greeting to good old Crowley?"
Maddy got angry: "I'll ask you again. Where's Dean?"
Crowley rolled his eyes: "Okay, okay. Come on, I'll bring you to him."
Bucky and Sam started moving when Crowley paused: "No, no, boys. You stay here and wait."
They were about to protest when Maddy appeased them: "It's okay, just wait here ." Reluctantly, they both nodded, left the bar, and sat in the car.
Crowley made a welcoming gesture, went ahead and Maddy ran after him.

Dean had just finished having fun with the barmaid when the door was thrown open. "Wooh, ever heard of call waiting?" he said angrily when he saw Crowley standing in the doorway. "We haven't had time to get dressed," he grinned and gave the barmaid a greedy kiss.
Crowley looked annoyed: "Get dressed, someone here wants to talk to you."
He took a step aside and Dean spotted Maddy, with a shocked face behind him.
Deans Conquest got up, quickly put on her clothes, and walked past Maddy with a mock smile. He looked at Maddy with a mischievous grin: "Well, who do we have there? Longing?"
He stood up and looked down at his naked body: "Or do you miss this? Can't your Bucky get it right for you?"
Maddy's shocked expression disappeared and anger was reflected on her face: "Get dressed, Dean. We need to talk."
Dean was still grinning: "Okay honey, then maybe later. Daddy's always ready."
Crowley rolled his eyes: "Dean!"
"It's okay," he replied, annoyed, and began to get dressed.

Maddy was waiting for him in the next room.
After 10 minutes the door opened, Dean came in, took a few steps towards Maddy, and looked at her with a grin. "So what do you want?"
"Dean, a demon? What the hell is that? You're not the same. We have to change that and turn you back."
Dean looked at her first in silence before he replied: "Oh darling, and what if I don't want to change it? I'm doing better than it has been for a long time."
He started to laugh.
Maddy looked into his eyes and walked up to him: "Do you think that's funny? That's not funny Dean, seriously. It's not you. Let me help you. I love you!"
He stared at her and the look on his face scared her. "No, thanks. No need. Now leave me alone."
Dean turned around and was about to leave the room when Maddy grabbed his shoulder: "Dean! Stay here, you idiot!"
Dean took her hand, held it, and turned agonizingly slowly, with a smug grin to her.
Then he grabbed her shoulders and pushed her to the ground. Maddy landed on her bum and looked stunned into Dean's face. Her eyes filled with tears as Dean began to laugh demonically.
She got up. "Dean, are you crazy? What are you doing?"
"Oh whatever I want," he replied.
"I could punch you in the face," she said.
Dean came closer: "Go ahead. Make a move. See how it ends."
"I thought you love me," she whimpered.
"Oops," he replied, turned around, and left the room.
Maddy was completely upset. She got up, ran out of the room, down to the bar, and out into the parking lot.
Sam and Bucky saw her coming and both jumped out of the car. "Maddy, what's wrong?" asked Sam, worried.
"I want to get out of here," she sobbed.
Bucky grabbed her arm, but she hit him away: "I want to get out of here!" she yelled at him.
The men looked at each other. Sobbing loudly, Maddy got into the car and sat in the back seat. She sniffed and repeatedly wiped her nose with her sleeve. "I'm driving, you go back to her," she heard Sam say to Bucky.
Bucky sat down next to her and looked at her. Maddy stared out the window as tears ran down her face. Sam sat in the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove off. They drove for a while when Sam couldn't stand it any longer: "Maddy, can you please tell us what happened now?"
She had calmed down a bit, looked at Bucky, grabbed his hand, and whispered, "I'm sorry."
He smiled at her: "It's okay."
Maddy told the two of everything that had happened. Sam had to process what was said first before he answered: "Maddy, we have to get him back."
"No, Sam. I can't. I'm sorry. I just want to go home."
Sam nodded and replied: "I'll take you back to the bunker. From there you can go home with your car and I'll find out something, how we can cure Dean."
Maddy nodded, moved a little closer to Bucky, leaned against him, and closed her eyes while he put his arm around her.

When they arrived at the bunker, they said goodbye to Sam and Bucky drove them home in her car.
When they arrived at her apartment, he stood in front of her, uncertain: "Should I stay?" he asked her.
She shook her head: "I want to be a little by myself. Is that okay with you?"
"Of course. But you can call me anytime," he replied and kissed her on the forehead.
"Thanks," she answered.
Bucky was just about to leave when he turned around again: "Listen, I'm going to see Sam Wilson, my friend, tomorrow. He needs my help with an assignment. After that, I'll drive a few more days to see him and his sister Sarah. If you like, come with me."
Maddy took a few steps towards him and hugged him: "Thanks, Bucky. Give me some time, okay? I'll think about it."
He nodded, kissed her goodbye, and went home.
After Bucky left, she poured herself a tall glass of wine, took a photo album out of the closet, and sat on the floor. She opened the album and at the sight of the photos of her and Dean, the tears began to flow again.
