~Maddys POV~

After the incident with Bucky, Maddy and Stacy enjoyed the rest of the evening.
They ate, drank and laughed.
Like every Saturday night.
Maddy looked forward to this day every week, it was her highlight of the week, so to speak.
Stacy kept gushing about Josh, but eventually Maddy stopped listening to her. She thought about Bucky and their meeting tonight.

She sat there, totally absent, staring into space, beginning to smile.
Stacy didn't even notice, she was so engrossed in her stories.
A little later they said goodbye to each other and Maddy went to her apartment.

Just as she had put the key to her apartment door in the lock, her cell phone rang.
She let out a little whoop of joy when she saw who was calling her: "Dean! Finally!"
"Hey babe," answered a harsh voice on the other end of the line.
Maddy pouted and there was a slightly offended undertone in her voice.

"Dean, I was so worried! You promised me to write at least one message every day so I know everything is ok! It's been five days since you last got in touch."
"I know. I'm sorry baby. Actually, I wanted to get in touch with you every day, I swear.
But it just didn't work, I'm sorry. The last few days have been a little, shall we say, difficult.
I'm all the happier to finally hear your voice again.
I miss you so much!"

"I miss you too, Dean! I can't wait for you to finally come home. Are you and sam done now? Everything is done?"
Dean sighed, "Yes, for now."
"For now?" Maddy frowned, "Aren't you coming home yet?"
Dean hesitated for a moment, as if he was looking for the right words. When he answered, his voice cracked, "Sam and I have to go to Louisiana. Cas needs our help."

Dean's words gave her a little pang. She missed him so much and just wanted to finally hug him again. In her mind she cursed his job as a hunter. She secretly hoped that one day he would give up on him.
"Understand."
"Sorry babe."
Maddy sighed, "Two months, Dean. It's been over two months since you've been gone."
"I know, sweetie, I know. Just this one more thing and I'll be home, I promise you!"

She'd heard those promises so many times before. Of course she knew he meant it every time, but life as a hunter was simply unbreakable. Unpredictable things could happen at any time, you just had to live with that if you chose Dean.
He snapped her out of her thoughts: "How was your night, babe? Were you out with Stacy again?"

"Yes, we went to Kim's again for dinner.
Stacy just babbled on about herself and Josh all night. It's cute how much they both have a crush on." Dean had to laugh. She really liked Maddy's friend and could picture it all.
"So like always yes?"
"Yes, just like always.
But it was a nice evening. Something pretty embarrassing happened to me. I'm sure you'll laugh your ass off at me."
Maddy had briefly considered whether it was a good idea to tell Dean the story about Bucky. Dean was more of the jealous type and being apart so often didn't make it any better. However, she had no secrets from him, so she told him the whole thing, easy and uninhibited.
