Aura: The beginning

After fetching the two girls from the airport, they came back to Aura's office to celebrate their reunion. To talk about things. Good thing Prenia and Gavin had cancelled the meeting in the afternoon and there were no other appointments so the day had been cleared for them.

"I was thinking a while ago, actually even  before you called Enya, we were talking about why at the age of 26 we're still single? Yes we date. We have flings...but a serious relationship? Bakit parang sinumpa tayo?" umpisa ni Aura.

"As much as I don't want to think about love and relationships, it got me curious na din why. Magaganda naman tayo at patok ang career so bakit hindi tayo nakakapag-settle down like Prenia?" ani Marg.

"Wait, when ba our last serious relationship girls?" inquired Sab.

"I can't remember. My last long relationship I think was...when I was 23? We lasted, ahm, 4 months tops." ani Macy. Pinagtinginan siya ng 5. "What! That was it! Compared to the other relationships I had since...Ony. After that, flings na lang." lumaglag ang balikat nito pagkabanggit sa pangalan.

"Same here. Since Jox." maikling turan ni Enya.

"I hate to admit, yes. Jessie ruined my relationship appetite." sabi ni Aura at bumuntung hininga.

"Fine, I have to say din since you're being honest, Neo ruined my life!!!" exasperated na sabi Sab.

"Oh well..Crane too. Him. Yeah." nakatungong sabi ni Marg.

Pagkatapos nilang sabay-sabay bumuntung-hininga ay lumipat lahat ng atensyon nila kay Cielo na kanina pa tahimik.

"At ikaw Senyorita Cielo?" tanong ni Aura.

"What about me?" Cielo answered.

"Ikaw hindi mo ba aaminin na malaki ang impact na naiwan sa'yo ni Raxen?" namimilog na matang tanong ni Marg.

"I don't believe it's his fault that I am still single. Actually it was never their fault. It was ours. Yours pala dahil kalokohan niyo yun." sagot nito. Nanahimik lang ang 5. "What? Don't you remember what we did to them? Ang kalokohan na nagpasimula lahat ng heartaches and miseries ninyo. Ang dahilan kung bakit kayo single and alone pa rin?" sunud-sunod nitong tanong sa limang nakatanga lang sa kanya.

"The MI!." they all said, finally after a long pause.

8 years ago...Holy Angel University. Angeles City, Pampanga. Wednesday.

Aura's classes had ended for the day. Wednesday. How lovely the day is. Every week, this day is what she's been looking forward to. Why? Why not. Aside from having only two subjects, this day every week, walang palya, ay nagkikita-kita silang 6 na magbabarkada sa kanilang usual spot--ang student council office ng department nila because she's the president. This is what they call FabWed. Kapag kasi ganitong araw ay parang break sa kanilang mga estudyanteng naka-enroll sa university dahil una, konting subjects, pangalawa no-uniform day. Well except sa mga nursing students which kinda sucks for her dahil isa siyang Nursing student.

Anyhow, andito sya ngayon sa labas ng room ni Savienna at hinintay matapos ang klase para sabay na silang pumunta sa office. They'll wait for the others na doon because sa ibang departments ang mga ito. Margerytte and Cielo are from the CEA department though magka-ibang course sila--ECE and CE respectively. Macy is from the CBA department, taking Accountancy while Enya is from CAS taking Mass Comm.
