I woke up, on a rather partly cloudy morning, in my Bed Chamber, the light breeze, blowing through my open window, billowing the dark green long drapes about- it was to be an audacious occasion. My 16th birthday, as I sat up, trying to eradicate the drowsiness I was feeling, a light rapping came upon my bed chamber door. "Mother?..." I asked, opening the door, she stood. in a beautiful ravishing forest green dress, with a long billowing cape, the tassels on her sleeves made her look "fairy" like, her hair was put up in an extravagant row of weaved rolls, and atop her head was a golden Asgardian crown.

Displaying her regalness. I have to admit, my Mother was radiantly beautiful as she was kindhearted, towards her subjects, as well as soft spoken towards me, and my big brother Thor. "There you are, come- get dressed, today is an important day" she came up to me, and held out her hand to me, as she helped me out of bed- of course I'm quite capable of getting myself out of bed, but today the fair Queen Frigga took it upon herself to help me out regardless.

"Mother?, I can get ready without you nurturing me, I'm not exactly 10 anymore" I insisted, as I changed into a black tunic, and black pants, trimmed with green, though she persisted in helping me as she fastened my belt, I put on my Asgardian waistcoat that hung, to the tops of my knee's, it was fastened with a gold plate on my chest

I came over to the side table and picked up my horned helmet, that glinted in my bed chamber light, I tried to, smoothen out my hair to no avail, my Mother looked proudly on, as I placed my Asgardian boots upon my feet. "You look much older, my son" I looked at her smiling, "not as old as you'd hope?" I inclined, "either way, you look quite handsome" she exclaimed, I smiled at her "why thank you Mother" with that I took her arm under mine as we headed out of my Bed chamber, and to the Grand Hall for breakfast.

I smiled at Thor who had already arrived, A big smile he had on his face back, "happy birthday Brother!" He said "thank you Brother" I obliged back.

Then much to my displeasure my adopted Father Odin came in. I turned my focus on, Volstagg, Lady Sif, Hogun and Fandral, who managed to strike up a conversation, with Thor, they were His friends, not mine.

I pretended like I was interested, despite hearing Volstagg's ghastly loud chuckles as he reached across the table for some freshly caught Herring, then grabbing a goblet of freshly made spiced hot Orange juice, I glanced up and then yawned in displeasure.

Odin looked on, particularly, at me, Frigga looked at him as if to say "𝘕𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘯, 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘺" she made eye contact and he smiled "happy birthday my son" I looked surprised, no insults or put downs today it seemed, it was almost too good to be true- sadly I knew very well it wasn't going to last long.

The tension we had between us the past few days had subsided. I acknowledged him saying quietly "Thank you Father".

After breakfast my Adopted Mother Frigga wanted to spend a few moments with me, just the two of us, so we walked to the Palace garden, which was still in full bloom for this time of year, looking at the flowered apple tree's, in the Orchard, I had a flashback of a memory, from my childhood

"Loki?...Loki?..." as I was daydreaming, I heard her voice, when I came back to reality. "You remembered?.." she smiled at me, " you knew what I was thinking?" I turned to her, "of course, I used to come here every mid summer, with you, we would spend quite sometime here"

I smiled. Then I paused, "Mother can I ask you something?" I asked as we stopped in the middle of the Orchard path "yes my Son?" she asked looking at me, "it's about what happened a few weeks ago?" she looked at me again "and what about it?" she asked. I had to get it off my tongue or I'd be dreading it for weeks.

"Father said 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯?" I started, at that she placed her index finger on my mouth. "Not today my young Son" she said "if not today then when, why must everything be secretive?" I asked turning to face her, "leave it for tomorrow, today is your birthday, it is time to stay within this moment" she said placing her hand on top of mine.

I knew I wasn't going to be getting an answer that easily. "so it's more like keep it on the shelf for now, till it's time?" she turned her head to me "exactly" the waiting made it unbearable, in that moment, either that or she didn't want to reveal anything just yet.

We continued our walk, for the time. Until it was time to head in for the royal Birthday celebration to begin.
