He's dorky, he's shy, he's awkward, but he has this look in his eye, I don't know what it is but it's far more interesting than anything I see in any of those baboons back there. "So how does someone like you end up being tricked by some one like Daphne?" I ask, honestly I may or may not be deepening my voice at this point, I know I don't have to but I like that little panic I see in his eyes when I speak. "I suppose I just liked the attention, she was the first person I felt like actually saw me, I mean now I know she didn't, it was just a lie.. I don't know why I filled myself into thinking I was worth that kind of-" I place my finger on his lip again and see his eyes widen. "Don't talk like that, just because they have inflated senses of self worth doesn't mean everyone should buy into it, you're better than that" I say frowning at him. He doesn't seem to realise that all those people have to say for themselves is what their parents tell them to say.. non of its real, non of its them. "You're very real, people don't like that, you've a full personality, you have interests and passions. That's something some adults don't even manage. People don't dislike you, you confuse them, you intimidate them" I explain to him. "Me intimidating?" Neville says in disbelief. "Neville if you put yourself down once more I'll.." he looks afraid now, "you'll what" he asks shaking a little . "I'll kiss you" I say. I mean I want to anyway honestly, Neville is the most real thing about this place and I could do with a little reality in my life. Neville looks up at me stunned for a moment before turning away. I'm quite sure the boy is blushing which honestly warms my cold heart just a little. It's hard not to be charmed. "I - I'm a piece of" before he can finish I grab him by his chin, turn him to face me and place my lips on his. The kiss is sweet and I can feel the electricity between us. In this moment I feel more like I belong here, at Hogwarts than I ever have. Non of the girls I've been with, nor the boys have ever felt as real or made me feel quite as alive as this foolish Gryffindor who lost his way. When I pull away from the kiss, I look into his eyes and feel at peace. Neville jumps down from the tree and offers me his hand, a slight spring in his step. Tonight turned out to be unexpectedly, but exceptionally.. Perfect.
