"AND THEY'RE OFF!"

Dream raced past everyone, jumping onto the slime first and bouncing up through the gaps. He was already in the lead, everyone else a couple meters behind.

Aight. Second checkpoint. Anddddd, third.

Dream was practically gliding through all the obstacles, not even turning his head around to see where the competition was at.

7th done...8th done...

There were 8 stages and 24 challenges. He was on the 11th challenge now. Now 12th. Now 13th. It looked like Dream wasn't even trying at this point.

In the corner of his eye, he saw a flash of pink and red. Huh, not as bad as I thought.

The pink prince was only 2 challenges behind him. Just keep going.

He was on the 14th now, picking up the pace after every challenge he completed. 15th, done. 16th, obliterated. 17th, doesn't even exist to him. 18th, left in the dust.

He just kept going and going nonstop.

Finally, he was on the last level and the throne was in view. He could hear a voice in the distance, the words said making him go even faster.

"Go Dream! You can do it!" Drista.

He made his way up the wall, toppled over and fell onto the throne, out of breath. Horns sounded and a hologram of a timer was shone in the middle of the stadium.

6.41 minutes

He had beaten the high score, earning the most points from anyone for his team, who was now in first with Sapnap and George coming 2nd and 3rd, and having his name at the top of the leader board for individual points.

Once the course was finished, everyone somehow magically teleported onto a floating platform while the ground shifted again to create the main area.

The platform floated down to the ground, satisfyingly slipping into it's assigned place.

Dream, stepped off to be greeted by his team mates.

"Dream oh my god you did amazing! You came first! We're first!" George was yelling at the top of his lungs, eventually cracking his voice as the others laughed at his slip up.

"Seriously though, you did amazing Dream!" exclaimed Sapnap.

"Thanks, pandas." Sapnap rolled his eyes at the nickname. Dream slowly started to sneak away from his friends to talk to a certain pink-haired prince.

"Hey."

"Dream, not now."

"C'mon, I just wanted to talk~"

"Dream. I just lost. My team is in second. I don't want to speak to you."

"It's just a competition--"

"But you know for a fact it means so much more! I need to win this!" Dream was slightly startled by the volume Techno's rant was delivered at, thought not very surprising he was acting up again.

"Techno, there's no way your cause is more important than mine. Honestly I thought you changed at least a bit."

"Changed? What's that supposed to mean?! I have a reputation to uphold--"

"And I have a country to save." Dream's joyful expression suddenly changed to a serious one. He was upset, not by the fact Techno was being rude, but by the fact he knew how much pressure was on him to win these games, yet ye was so insensitive about it.

"Dream I--"

"Just--...Never mind." He walked away.

Away from the person who he tried to make amends with.

Away from the person who was too stubborn.

Away from the person...who hurt him.

I-I, I didn't mean i-it, I--

"Techno? You good?" He turned his head around, to me met by Wilbur.

"Uh, yeah, just um--"

"C'mon, the next game's starting soon!"

He was pulled away, and forgot about the man he had hurt.
