Prologue: A girl and her sensei

Hello hello - and welcome back to another story!!! Some of you may recognize this title! This is a rewrite of the old version of "My Little Kuma." That version has/will be taken down.

Hopefully I do this version justice 🤧

"Holy Moses (Y/n)! Minato Sensei really took it hard on you! You look like you came back from an S ranked mission!" Obito looked at you with a playful glint in his eyes.

Giggling a little you swatted at his head. In response he playfully pouted.

"So mean (Y/n)-chan!"

Sure, Minato did take it hard on you, but it was for the betterment of your skills. You wanted to become the best you could be. No harm in that. After all, he was the best sensei ever!

Looking down at your clothes, you realized how tattered they were. Obito wasn't lying. You really did look like you came back from an S ranked mission.

Obito gently took my hand in his, leading me to sit down at a tree. "You can take a nap. I'm waiting for Rin!" The Uchiha bounced in his spot as you giggled. He really was adorable. Closing your eyes, you fell into a dream filled sleep.

"Remember (Y/n)! You are a princess! Don't forget that sweetie! Perfect! Sweet!" Minato smiled down at you.

"But what about pretty! I want to be pretty! And I have to have a prince!" You wore a small pout on your face.

Your older brother frowned, scooping you up onto his knee. "(Y/n), darling, a prince doesn't have to save you. You can be your own hero! Don't forget that! Now how about we got out for some dango!"

"Is she seriously dreaming about dango?"

You awoke to a third voice. Raising your hand to rub your eye, you hissed when you saw the light. Standing above you was the silhouette of a female. "Rin? So what if I'm dreaming about dangos!"

The brown haired girl giggled. Of course you would say that! Dango practically made up your life! Scratch that....dango was your life!

Raising your arms, you felt satisfied with a loud pop.

Rocking back and forth, you sprung up, landing directly on your feet. "So what are we doing now?"

Looking towards Obito, who was lying fast asleep, you couldn't help but smile. Innocent baby! Well, he was older than you....but that was a minor detail! You would still treat him like the cutest precious baby he was!

Raising your foot, you stepped on his shin.

Hard.

That woke him up in mere seconds.

"What the heck (Y/n)-chan!" The boy immediately stopped pouting as soon as his eyes met Rin. A scarlet blush covered his face.

Rin, not noticing anything out of the ordinary, continued talking to Obito, "What would you like to do?"

Knowing if he were to say anything, it would sound stupid, you covered for him. "Want to grab dangos!"

Good cover!

Rin wouldn't suspect a thing.

The black haired Uchiha could only nodd. Grabbing his hand, you pulled him up to his feat. "Come on then!"

The three of you made small talk on the way to the dango shop. Deciding to take a short cut, you walked through the training yard.

To your surprise,both Minato and Kakashi were still training together.

If Obito thought you trained hard, he should be amazed at how hard Kakashi trained! You wondered if the scarecrow child ever got any sleep. On numerous occasions, you had gone for a late night walk, only to see Kakashi still training. How much coffee did he have to drink?!?!

Scratch that.

How much coffee did he have to inject in himself?

Being polite, you waved at both boys. Minato quickly returned it, dodging one of the Hatake's kicks.

Your blonde brother held up his hand, signaling to Kakashi that their little sparring match was done for now. "Where are you going Kuma?"

You blushed at the nickname. He had called you that from a young age. Sure, you never really knew what it meant up until recently, but it was the thought that counted.

Now what did Kuma mean?

Bear.

"Well (Y/n)! You are just like a bear! Look all cuddly, but have a fire in you!"

"We're going to the dango shop! Do you guys want to come?"

Minato eagerly jumped on the offer. Kakashi seemed to consider it before sighing. "Whatever. I guess I'll go too. "Kakashi mumbled something else as well, but no one could make out what he said.

The entire Team 7 walked towards the dango shop, taking the booth seats. Small talk was made until Minato posed a question.

"What are your life goals and dreams?"

Obito went first; "I want to be Hokage!"

Minato gave a smile, "Not if I beat you to it." The two of them often joked with one another about who would become Hokage first. To annoy Minato, you would always say Obito would make it first.

Rin went next; "I want to become an amazing medical ninja!"

Kakashi was finally asked; "I want to be the best that I can be, I guess?"

Minato seemed proud of the answers, "How about you Kuma?"

You gave a thoughtful smile, "Well Minato sensei, I have always wanted to be a mother."

You gazed up at your brother, met with an approving and proud smile. As usual, his smile was warm, welcoming. It was also very bright! Like literally, the sun reflected off of it and hit your eyes! Laughing a joyous laugh, he closed his mouth slightly, stopping the bright light from hitting your eyes.

Life was brilliant!

You couldn't be happier!

But sadly...life is not always kind.

Sometimes, even the bravest Kuma's can become scared.

Sometimes the happiest of people can become sad...
