~Levy~

I feel like shit. That was the first conscious thought. My body felt heavy, my throat was raw from where I had been sick on the roof and I was strangely comfortable. It took more strength than it should have to get my eyes open, and when they were, I was slightly confused. Where the hell am I? I was looking at the underside of a bed, no, a bunk. My mind was slow moving, so when Lucy suddenly leaned over to look at my face, I was too slow to even jump. Ah, I must be on the bus. And from the scent, I must be in Gajeels bed. "How are you feeling Levy?" She asked worriedly,  a crease in her brow. "Iv been better," I said weakly, coughing slightly. She touched my forehead and I realized there was a cloth there, but it was already dry. She got it wet again and brought a glass of water back with her. "Think you can drink this? It's best to get fluids in you." I nodded slightly.

Lucy helped me sit up so I could drink though it wasn't much. She laid me back down and set the rag back on my forehead. "How'd I get here?" I asked, my voice a little clearer now. "Gajeel brought you here, said you collapsed on the rough. He was a bit panicky." I chuckled weakly, "Sorry about that.... Iv just been over doing myself lately." She smiled a little and went to speak when the bus door opened. She pat my hair before getting up and disappearing past a curtain. “About time you two got back,” Lucy chuckled, too who I wasn't sure. “Levy’s already awake. She’s not feeling much better, but I got her to drink some water."  “Go,” Cana? Before I could think more on it, Gajeel pushed back the curtain and strode towards my bed. His eyes locked on mine and I could see the worry deep within them, and I felt my heart race. Like the damn thing always did around him.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, his voice surprisingly soft. "I'll live," Maybe. It was almost like he could hear my unspoken words. "Do you feel up to going out?" He suddenly asked and I frowned but nodded. I tried to stand but he shook his head, hooking one arm under my legs and behind my back. I squeeked slightly and threw my arms around his neck as he stood. Tall bastard! Instead of going back through the curtain, he headed for a door further back and exited. "Where are we going?" I was growing increasingly annoyed at my fragile voice.

"Town." Was all he said before shaking out his large white wings. With one powerful thrust we were airborne. I had never had the chance to admire his wings before, so I took the time to do so. His feathers were clean and smooth, and I couldn't resist the urge to touch them. I let my fingers gently stroke the feather covered appendage, it was soft against my hand. It wasn't long before he was landing at the top of a large skyscraper. He gently set me on my feet and kept an arm around my waist so I wouldn't fall. "Are you gonna tell me why we're here? If it's a date you picked a pretty crappy place," I chuckled dryly. Gajeel smiled slightly, "No. Cana told me," He said softly and I looked down at my feet.

"Why would you stop if it was going to hurt you?" He asked, still quiet. I thought carefully, trying to pick my words. "I knew it would only make it difficult for you and the others. With Lucifer, you didn't need my extra chaos thrown in. With him trying to destroy everything... I would only make things worse." I was nearly whispering. I could feel his eyes on me and I took a deep breath, Might as well go all the way. "Also because... I... I think I love you... I didn't want to keep causing you problems..." Two large hands cupped my face and forced me to look up, just in time for lips to meet mine. I was to slow to kiss him back, and my fever addled mind couldn't put things together. "Why..." I asked with a frown. Gajeel snorted, leaning his forehead on mine. "Because I love you too... Idiot." I pouted, though my face was warm with more than just fever now.

Gajeel grinned as he noticed my cheeks get redder. He gently rubbed the scales under my eyes with his thumbs as he looked down at me. "Now that that is out of the way," He said, planting a soft kiss on my nose. "Go cause hell, we can't have you being sick." I smiled, placing my hands on his and rubbing his hands with my fingers. "You know once isn't going to make me better right away right?" I asked. He shrugged, "Gotta start somewhere." I giggled as he planted a kiss on my cheek. He helped me to the edge of the building and I looked around for a target. Nothing deadly. I thought to myself. I lifted my hand to a power line, creating sparks that blew the line down. This in turn cause the entire block to go dark. I could feel my fever lift slightly and I grinned. This time, an underground steam pipe. The sidewalk caved in, causing two joggers to stumble back and trip over themselves and a car to swerve away.

I could feel my strength slowly returning, and I gave my wings an experimental flap. With a grin I dove off the building, catching the up draft and soaring high above the streets. I looked back to see Gajeel close behind, grinning at me. I grinned back and looked forward again, just as a large black object slammed against me. I didn't even have time to scream, and I heard Gajeel shout my name. I hissed in pain as I felt sharp claws pierce my sides, and I kicked as hard as I could. I was still pathetically weak, but the kick was strong enough to launch my attacker.

My sides were still burning and I began to panic was my right wing began to go numb. In front of me, hovering on its own skeletal like wings, was a Vetis. The demon was dragon like, but in an elongated human shape. These demons were terrifying with looks alone, their venom only made things worse. It was one of these that had attacked Erza at the gate. They could create poisons, venom in varying degrees and, in my case, venom that caused paralysis. My right wing was completely useless and I had started to plummet from the sky. I could see Gajeel diving for me, a divine blade now in his hands as he slashed the Vetis away.

A second set of scale covered arms caught me, and I was completely limp. I couldn't get my arms or legs to work, and even my throat was constricted and my lungs struggled to gain air. "Ga... Jeel...." My voice was barely a hiss through my slacked jaw. I watched, now upside down on the dragons shoulder, as Gajeel flew for me, panic clear on his face. I heard the ripping of a portal, a tear in time and space itself. I could feel the hell fire as we got closer. "Levy!" Was the last thing I heard before I was taken from the mortal world.

And Gajeel.

*hides* Bamboo did it! But GAH!! It was perfect! <3 _ <3
