Merlin Episode Ideas

We open where we left off. The creature is still attacking Camalot. The knights, Arthur and Kate are circling the creature and throwing spears at it. Kate throws off her heels. Leon throws a spear that hits the creature in the eye. The creature is badly wounded, and it flies away. Kate makes sure that everyone is ok. Merlin tends to any wounds; he slyly keeps on looking at Kate and Gwaine who are cleaning the mess in the square. Suddenly, Morgana appears in the square with them all and threatens Arthur and Camalot saying that they will fall. She disappears in a cloud of smoke.

TITLES PLAY

We come back to everyone in the court discussing what the plan will be (at the round table). Kate is just a spectator. No one knows what to say. All Merlin can do is death stare Kate. Arthur decides that he needs some time alone and dismisses everyone. We leave Arthur and Gwen still sat at the round table – looking worried.

Cut to the hallway with Merlin and Kate. They are discussing what had happened before her and Gwaine joined the fight. They argue – Merlin is acting too protective. Kate storms away, she blows past a few servants and knights and avoids Gwaine like the plague – he tries to ask her what is wrong, but she pushes past him, leaving him speechless. Merlin then goes on to yell at Gwaine – Gwaine argues back claiming that he has no right to get involved after what he did to Kate when she was a child. Merlin is hurt and walks away. Gwaine follows the direction that Kate went in.

Kate is hiding behind one of the walls in the citadel. She is crying. Gaius sees her and sits next to her. He tries to tend to her wounds. He consoles her and reassures her that Merlin only wants what is best for her. Gwaine walks past, looking for Kate, but he doesn't notice them. She thanks Gaius and they both walk away.

Kate goes to her room to get washed and changed before she goes to find Merlin and explain her feelings. She is very nervous and walks with caution. When she finds him, they apologise to each other. Kate then goes on to explain how she feels about Gwaine and that she doesn't know what is going to happen between them, but she likes him a lot. They are talking for a long time. Kate falls asleep by Merlin's side – It's really sweet, a brother and sister finally trusting each other and caring for each other.

When the morning arrives, everyone is back to training. There is some awkwardness in the air. Kate and Gwaine don't talk.

Surprisingly the beast doesn't attack that night. This gives Gwaine and Kate a chance to talk about what happened. Gwaine goes to Kate's chambers. They agree that their feelings for each other are strange, but very strong. They also agree that there is no pressure from either of them, they are just going to see what happens in the future. They kiss, it is very romantic. There is some heat, but Kate backs away from him. "we have to be careful around Merlin. He is sensitive about us". Gwaine reassures her, "what happens between us is private, I promise". Then Gwaine decides to leave and give her some time to rest. Kate is very smiley and goes to bed in a very good mood.

The next morning, everyone wakes to see that, what looks like, an army have stormed Camalot and trashed the market and citadel. It is clear that sorcery was used to make them sleep through it. Arthur and Merlin are investigating while others help to clean the mess. Merlin finds a message on the north wall of the castle saying, 'this is just the beginning, dear brother.'. Merlin calls Arthur over and he gets furious. Arthur orders some of the castle staff to clean the wall, Kate offers to help them.

A short time after, Arthur arranges for a group of people he trusts to follow the trail which was left by Morgana and her army. The people who are going are; Leon, Gwaine, Percival, Elian, Merlin, Arthur and Kate. They gear up and ride into the forest.

We follow them for a while. Going up and down hills, through water, stopping for rest (etc.) (maybe a montage?).

They soon arrive at an abandoned castle, which looks very old and worn. They decide to use this as their camp site for the night. Merlin leaves to collect some firewood whilst Kate, Leon and Elian set traps to catch some animals for dinner. After about half an hour, they catch 2 rabbits – they are perfect to go in Merlin's stew. Kate asks if anyone needs any water as she is going to fill her own canteen anyway. Everyone says yes so Gwaine offers to help her out. They walk down to the stream nearby. Kate pushes Gwaine in to stream and they start to have a water fight. There is a lot of flanter. Then Percival comes down to see where they have got to and sees what is happening. He accidentally interrupts them, and they all walk back up to their camp site together. They come back to the group who are all relaxing but have their weapons in their hands, just in case.
