The amount of pain that Beths death caused as a lot. Anka had front row seats. She watched the gun go off in front of her. She watched the bullet fly through her head right before her very eyes. The gun was so loud it rung her ears still to this day. They all seen it, yes, but they didn't see it like Anka did. She had watched Dawn. Anka knew Dawn didn't mean to do it, it was an accident. Anka felt for her, but at the same time she didn't care. Dawn killed Beth, by accident or by purpose, the teenager was dead. No one could fret from that fact. Anka would try to distract herself. Whenever Rick would ask anything from someone she would immediately offer to help. When that didn't happen, she'd force herself to take care of Vella, Mika, Lizzie and would help with Judith. She would find anything in her power to do something to hide her from reality.

"I'm gonna head out." Everyone could overhear Daryl as he gave Rick the gun. She glanced into the right side of the road, past the trees. They've all been starving, eating the bare minimum, no water either and the ground was as dry as dust. "See what I could find."

Carol nodded her head looking at Daryl from afar. She quickly glanced at Anka who stood there distracting herself with the piece of dirt underneath her finger nail. "I'll go with you."

Daryl glanced back at Carol, he couldn't help but look behind her at the dazed out girl. "I got it."

"You gonna stop me?" Carol smiled slightly. Daryl didn't know what to say as he just walked down the dip of grass and passed the trees with. Carol was worried. She and everyone could see the tension between the two, even though they didn't interact. At all anymore.

Anka lowered her hand, walking beside Rick before taping him. "I'm gonna check the other side."

She stopped and pointed to the opposite direction they left. It gave her something to do, but she could see the dislike on Ricks face. It was too clear to miss. She knew why though. She was overdoing herself with so much tasks, she didn't find time to relax. "No, it's alright. One side is good for now-"

"I wasn't asking Rick." Anka forced a small smile, to reassure him that her means meant no harm. Rick just nodded his head, accepting her stubbornness while he took Judith from her hands.

"I'm coming along." Tyreese spoke, adjusting his knife in his palm while he followed her out of the road. Anka put her fingers in her mouth, calling Vella over. Which the bird flew from Lizzies shoulder and onto hers. "You've been overworking yourself, Nana."

"I'll be fine Ty. You should head back. I might be long." Anka spoke, climbing over the trees and branches. She kept her eyes darted to the ground, as if she was looking for something. Tyreese wanted to ask, but he wasn't sure sure if that would've been an insensitive question to ask. Anka glanced back, to watch her stare at her with his eyebrows furrowed. She smiled before turning around. "I'm looking for miners lettuce. The leaf looks like a bowl with a stem growing right through it."
