We drive through three horns valley during the night before reaching a big set of doors as the sun begins to rise.

Angel: son of a...

Ryker: of a?

Angel: ... witch, the doors frozen over give me a moment to unfreeze them

Ryker: no need your big brother is here

I puff out my chest proudly I hear an embarrassed sigh over the ECHO

Ryker: did I embarrass you?

She doesn't answer. I walk over to the ice and place my arm against it storing up fire before releasing it all at once shattering and melting the ice.

The doors open and we walk through into the fridge. When we enter the vault hunters look around while I walk over to the reconstruction terminal and activate the instant teleport... just in case.

Maya: Hey Zer0 look its one of Moxxis underdome games

I walk over toward the two and checkout the poster they're staring at on the door to a place called Finks slaughterhouse.

Ryker: So her names Mad Moxxi huh?

Maya turns a mischievous smile plays on her lips.

Maya: yea why you got a crush on her

Ryker: not really I'm into more respectable women

Zer0: You, wouldn't, want?

Ryker: well if I could sure I mean her curves... *whistles* but I don't see anything more than a regretful one night stand

Maya laughs before walking away but I grab her collar and pull her back as a bullet enters the wall where her head had just been. She looks at her attacker and sees a hunched man in a gas mask.

Maya: what's that.

One of my implants that I synced to the ECHO scanned it and gave me a full file on the thing.

Ryker: it's a Rat... They're mutated cannibals, I'm seeing 14 on my HUD's map

Zer0: Dirt in front of me, Blood soaked ground, Death will collect

He vanishes and appears infront of the Rat slicing him in half.

Ryker: ... Did he just speak in Haiku?

Maya doesn't say anything she just runs forward and phaselocks 3 rats before crushing them.

Ryker: (thoughts) well down the rabbit hole

I run forward grabbing a Rat and slamming his face against the floor his entire head is destroyed under my hand.

Ryker: ewww blood on my hand... this is like exactly how hepatitis happens.

Maya: I NEED BACKUP

I turn and see Maya surrounded by rats I teleport over.

Ryker: something stinks

I put my bionic arm out and let loose an Explosion which kills most and Maya quickly phaselocks the rest.

Ryker: that's more like it smells like fresh linen now

Maya: (panting) thanks, your help was... LOOK OUT

I try to turn but a hand hits my midsection hard before I can, I get thrown through the air before coming to a rolling stop in the thick snow.

I look up to see a large, long armed, slow moving man with claws, Zer0 is hung off his back gripping his sword which is stuck in the large Rats shoulder And Maya trying to use her siren powers but being too exhausted to try gets grabbed by the throat.
