I ran out from my room when I heard a loud bang. I let out a sigh and looked at Declan disbelief. This man just.. broke my vase for the third time this week. He looked at me nervously and pointed his finger at Simba who's looking at the ball in Declan's hand.
"It's him, I swear." He said.
"Play outside!" I said pointing at the garden. He immediately grabbed those two potatoes and ran outside. I rolled my eyes when I saw the mess. I grabbed a plastic bag and started putting the glass pieces in. I cleaned the floor and made sure that there's no pieces were left on the floor.
My phone rang and it's my father.
"Hello, father."
"Hey, how are you?" He asked as I looked out the window.
"Everything is great."
"Is Dean doing well?" He asked and I chuckled.
"He's doing so well. We just got two puppies and he's been running around the house with them." I said as I grabbed my glass of coffee on the table.
"Happy to hear that. Do you need anything else, Danielle? I'm just worried about you."
"We're great, father. You don't need to worry about me, I'm doing great. We're happy."
"Very well, just want to check in on you. Alejandro misses Dean a lot and begged me to call you."
"You can give him my number, I'll let him know about his son's condition every now and then."
"Really?"
"Yeah, just give him my number."
Declan Serano
I sat on the bench in our garden and looked up to the sky. I let out a long sigh and I looked down to see them sleeping.
Suddenly I miss working and do what I love back in Italy and Europe in general. Letting ILLICIT go was never easy but after a month living here, I start to learn how to let it go.
I looked at my hand and sighed. I miss being a surgeon too. I miss the smile on my patients faces after I give them the good news. I just miss it all.
"Look at them sleeping.. you drained their energy too much." I turned to Danielle. She walked towards me with a glass of juice on her hand.
"Strawberry banana and yoghurt." She said as she sat down giving it to me.
"Thank you." I said and started drinking it.
"Do you have something on your mind?" She asked and I just looked at Simba and Koda sleeping. Danielle caressed my head and kissed my cheek.
"I know it's still hard for you let everything go." She said as she held my hand.
"You've been running all you life and suddenly you have to stop and take a rest made you feel.. weird and miss all the times when you're running." I turned to her and nodded lightly.
"I just want to say.. that you're doing great, Declan."
"You can come back any time in the future but for now.. I want you to heal yourself first and learn to live a life like ordinary people." I looked down to our hands.
"Thank you for sticking with me, Danielle. I don't know what would I do without you." I said truthfully.
"I love you with all my life. I will stick with you no matter what." I turned to her and she kissed me.
"Tomorrow, let's go to a carnaval. They will open it tomorrow and let's eat a lot donuts!"
Alejandro Serano
Danielle sent me a lot of photos of Dean and I couldn't be happier to see him smiling and do a lot of things that he never did before. I showed it to my wife and she couldn't stop looking at it and even asked me to print all of it.
I granted her wish and put his pictures on the wall. There's one photo of him sleeping on the sofa with his new two puppies. There's another photo of him eating donuts and drinking a lot of milkshakes. There's another photo of him riding a ferriswheel and there's another photo of him riding a horse.
Seeing that smile was enough for me. He gone through a lot and he deserved it.
"I wish I could witness that in person." I turned to see Damien standing beside me.
"Me too. I would trade everything that I have for that." I said.
"I miss him, father."
"I miss him too but there's nothing we can do." I said as I turned to the photos again.
"I hope he will comeback one day."

Me and Edmund looked at each other and then turned back to the 4 men in front of me. They put two black cards in front of us with our names on it.
"So.. what do you say?" I looked up to Chance and he smiled.
"ILLICIT needs people like you." Chance added and I turned to see Edmund taking it.
"Are you sure?" I asked Edmund.
"Yeah, Dean made it this far and I don't see why not. I want to continue his work and be there when he comes back." Edmund said and I looked at the black card in front of me.
"He suffered enough, Damien. Let's take over and paid for everytimg that we missed for the past 30 years." I turned to Edmund and then turned to the 4 men in front of me.
"You know we will keep in low like usual, no one will know our identity.. unless you want to reveal yourself." Adrian said and I found myself grabbing the black card.
"I guess.. I'm in." I said.
"Welcome to ILLICIT, Damien and Edmund Serano." They said and I looked at the black card. I just hope Dean will comeback one day and claim back his throne.
I'll take a good care of it while he's away. I promise.
