Wrapped in the protective embrace of her lover in a warm queen sized bed, Jihan felt at peace. The arms secured around her restricted her movements, but she loved the feeling of being held. Of being warm. Waking up beside him was waking from one dream to a better one.Expecting to be greeteed by the sun, she frowned at the sight of pitch black outside the window. She moved her hands ontop of the sleeping boy's, "Wake up, Gyu."
"Jihan, it's still early," his raspy voice had a profound tone, like the type that draws in your soul in a single flash.
When his grip on her loosened, she reached for her phone place on the nightstand.
3:00 am. Devil's hour is what they call it, yet she woke beside an angel.
She carefully excaped his grip and opened her call history to see the numerous calls she missed.
Three from Jihoon, fifteen from Chan, five from Seokmin, three from her mother.
Seeing her mother's name confused her. Her mother called her, which was rare. Her mother usually never cared about her whereabouts.
"Gyu," she shook him.
Finally conscious, he sat up with his eyes half-closed. He ran his ringers through his messy hair and released a yawn. "Is everything alright?" Mingyu asked worriedly. It was 3 AM for crying out loud!
When Jihan didn't reply, he scooted closer to her side of the bed and hugged her waist from behind with his eyes closed, his chin resting on her bare shoulder.
"We fell asleep."
"Clearly," Mingyu lazily replied. "Just stay the night. My parents aren't even here, what's the harm?"
"My mom called, you know she doesn't usually care where I am," Jihan sighed and leaned her back against the man behind her.
"She probably thinks you went off to Busan again-"
"My car's at home, stupid." Should she go home right now? Or should she just spend the night and tell her mom she was at Chaehan's-
As though heard by the Universe, Chaehan's caller ID appeared on Jihan's phone. She really did put her phone on silent mode, it didn't make a single noise nor vibration. She answered the call and put her on speaker, too lazy to pick up her phone.
"Chae-"
"You sly little minx!" The high voice of her best friend greeted her, destroying her solemn morning.
Mingyu groaned on her shoulder, tickling her a bit.
"It's three in the morning, Chae," Jihan sighed.
"Yeah, well, I'm binging on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and decided to call you because your mother called me at like eleven and asked me whether I knew where you were."
"And?"
"I told you her you were sleeping over at my house studying. You owe me." Jihan almost let out a breath of relief but remembered it was the Yoon Chaehan she was talking to. Showing even the smallest signs of gratitude will make her feel all high and mighty.
"Chaehan if I died, you know you would've had a lot of explaining to do to my mother."
"Oh shut up, you literally sent me a snap of Mingyu's dog like six hours ago. Now tell me, did you get that dick?"
Just like that, Mingyu lost all the drowsiness he had left. His eyes shot open.
"Goodbye, Chae-"
