ARIA POV :
This morning goes by usual, Ezra left to work along withcmy eldest daughter Ava (7) goes to school.
I'm a stay at home mom, every day is the same, thank god i have my little Lula (3) so i'm not so lonely. My relationship with Ezra isn't in good state lately, we argue much but not fighting because mostly i gave up so it didn't cause fighting. He always busy with work work work for the last three months, and the past 2 weeks he always home late me and the kids barely saw him, the kids mostly only saw him at morning breakfats, when he comes home, the kids already asleep. I don't know when was the last time we had pillowtalk before sleep, the last time he kissed, hugged or even tell me he love me. I started to think the worse.
Its 12.00 i'm in the middle of making lunch for me and Lula, she is now watching tv in living room untill i heard she screamed, i turn off the stove and rushed to the living room to found she holding her stomach and her face red, i didn't think much i grabbed my car keys and just a second i left for grab the keys, she passed out i already crying this time. I pick her up and drove to the hospital immediately. On our way to the hospital i didn't stop crying and try calling Ezra for the tenth time till i reached the hospital but he never pick up. I grabbed Lula and sprint to the front desk asking for help. The nurse told me to lay her down and not long after the doctor come in. He ask me what happened and i told him exactly what happened. He ask me to wait outside while he's examining Lula. I try calling Ezra over and over again but the result still the same, Voicemail.
The doctor come out and he told me that Lula has appendix and must have a surgery i fall onto the chair in the waiting room and just cry. He gave me a paper to sign for agree bring Lula to surgery. I signed it without thinking but also need Ezra's meanwhile Ezra doesn't pick up his phone. So i told the doctor i'll go to his office while Lula is still sleeping inside.
I drove my car as fast as i can to Hollis, i rushed to his classroom and his office but he wasn't there anywhere. I cry and cry again trying to call him one more time but STILL he doesn't pick up. I rushed to hospital again and explained the situation the Doctor and convinced him to do the surgery anyway. I'm beyond mad at Ezra right now. Finally the Doctor agreed and 15 minute later Lula is ready.
"Hey babygirl, you're gonna be okay! Fighting honey, i'll be here always. I love you" i whispered to Lula and she just cried. They brought her to operation room.
Its been 30 minutes and they said the surgery only took 45 minutes so there's only 15 minutes left. I didn't give up calling Ezra though. But like before, he didn't pick up. I also left him bunch of text and voicemail but no reply.
Its currently 5pm Lula is in recovery. Nurse told me she's gonna wake up any minute. Ezra still hasn't reply any of my text or call. My mom and Ava come to visit to check on Lula.
"Hey mommy!" Ava run to me and i hugged her
"Hi princess, i'm sorry i didn't pick you up earlier" i smile sadly
"Its okay mommy, Nana Ella pick me up tho and she hang out at the Brew for cookies and hot chocolate!"
"Thats must be a lot of fun huh?" she nodded
"Hi Aria, how's Lula doing?" My mom greeted me and handed me a lunch
"She's still sleeping because of anesthesia but the nurse said she'll wake up soon. Thanks for this mom." i said pointing
In the middle of my late lunch, Lula began to wake up. My mom and Ava also in the room.
"Mommy..."
"Hey baby, you're awake. Are you in any pain?" i dropped my lunch and stand up next to her
"My stomach hurts, mommy.." she cry sofly
"Yeah i know sweetie, you had surgery but it'll be okay soon. I promise" i said smiling and she nodded
"Hey Lulabee" Ava said to her sister
"Avaboo you're here" she suddenly cheer up i just smiled at my 2 sweet daughter
"Yes i'm here. You'll be fine soon and we can play together again" she nodded again. They talk for about an hour and its time for Ava and My mom to go home.
"Ava baby, you stayed at Nana Ella for tonight okay?"
"Why can't i just go home?" she pouted
"Because there is no one home, so you have to stay at Nana okay?"
"What about Daddy?" i sigh
"Daddy's gonna be home late. Just for one night please baby. Tomorrow we can be together again." We keep arguing and end up My mom stay over at my house because Ava just want to sleep in her own bed. They both go home and Lula sleeping again and here i am, alone. Suddenly i heard a knock on the door.
"Come in" i thought it was nurse or the doctor but its not. Its Ezra
"Hey, oh my god what happened. Is she okay?"
"She's fine now" i said coldly not looked him in the eye. Ezra come near Lula and kissed her all over her face.
"What happened, Aria?" he sit in the other side of the bed and now he face me.
"What happened is my 3yo daughter suddenly screaam in pain, then she passes out, she had appendix and have to go surgery and in the other side my husband is nowhere to be found" i whispered yelled with tears in my eyes. Ezra come near me to comfort me but i move away.
"Why didn't you just answer your phone? Or at least answer my text, is that too hard to do?"
"I'm sorry honey, i had a conference in Philly today, i turn of my phone. I thought i mentioned it yesterday"
"You didn't"
"God that must be slipped in my mind. I'm sorry again. I'm glad you and Lula okay. Thankyou baby and i'm sorry" he kissed my head and i didn't say anything
"I go to your office, you're weren't there. Thank god the doctor agreed to continue the surgery without your sign i didn't know what to think if i let Lula suffered more than she already has"
"Do you still want me? do you still want this family Ezra?" i continue before he reply
"What are you talking about? Ofcourse i want you and our beautiful daughters. I know i made a mistake but don't you dare think like that" he replied
"Thats not it, Ezra. Do you realize you've been putting work on top of your family for god knows how long. Its been a while since you hugged me, kissed me and even tell me you love me. Who are you? What did you do to my husband." i began crying hard and he started to crying too
"Baby, please i'm sorry. I didn't know you feel that way. Why didn't you say anything?"
" At first i respect you, i know you have to work hard since i'm not work. But later on it felt different. Do you know how many times the kids asked me why they never see you? I mean we only together as a family at breakfast."
"God i messed up. I'm sorry. I really am sorry. I'll try my best to make it up to you okay. Please" he pleaded. Before i said anything, Lula wake up.
"Daddy?"
"Hi princess, how are you feeling?"
"Finee"
"Look, you need to take a rest, if you want to go home tomorrow" she nodded and drift up to sleep again
"You can go home. My mom stay over though because Ava didn't wanna stay at her place"
"No, i'm staying here with you. You need to sleep. I'll be here"
"Just go home Ezra, you have work tomorrow and i have my car parked outside so i can bring Lula home tommorow. " At first he didn't want to but finally agreed to come home.
EZRA POV :
I have to make it up for what i did, not just to Aria but my daughters also. What should i do now? The only thing that can make this situation better is i took an absence and thats what i did, i called the university and told them i need a week absence and they agreed and now i'm thinking what should we do in a whole week. I'm gonna start to throw a little welcome home party with Lula. In my way to home, i stopped by at the shop to buy some party decorations. When i got home, the whole house is silence, Ella and Ava must've been asleep. Next morning i ask Ava and Ella to help me to decorate since i don't have to pick up Aria from the hospital. After we finished, Ella went home cause she wants us to spend time alone as family. For about an hour Aria finally texted me that she's on her way. I got everything ready.
Not long after, i heard Aria's car parked in the driveway she moved Lula from her carseat to wheelchair since she still has a pain from surgery if she move too much. Ava and I hiding behind couch and turned every light off.
"Hello? Ezraa? Avaboo? Why is so quiet here" Aria shouted from front door
"Mommy, why do we have balloon here" Lula notices some ballon in the hall and thats my cue.
"Surprisee!!!" Ava shouted and throw some confetti and they both jumped a little
"Welcome home my Lulabell" i said picking her up and kissed her head
"Oh my god thankyou daddy ana Avaboo" she giggled
"My pleasure sweetie"
"Lula come here, Daddy gave us each present, for you because you're so brave and for me because i've been good with Nana Ella" Ava said motioned Lula to joined her. I gently place her on the couch next to Ava and walk to Aria with smile on both out faces
"You did this?" i nodded
"Thank you, it mean so much for Lula" i smiled
"Wait, you have to go to work you're already late!" i chuckled
" Aria, relax. I'm not going to work. I took a week off, i think we could have some alone time as family or just the two of us. Anddd next month i already took 2 weeks off so we can go to vacation. You pick where to" big smile growth in her face
"Really?! Oh my god Ezra thank you so much. You don't have to do this though"
"I want to. I want to spend some time with my amazing wife and my wonderful kids" she smiled and i leant it to kiss her
"So am i forgiven?" i break the kiss
"Not quiet. There's one more thing you need to do. If you did a good job, you're fully forgiven!" she smirk
"What if i'm not" i said playfully
"Well then, i have to punish you"
"I like it when you punished me" i said kissed her and turns out to more heated session. We both pulled apart
"Ok as i much i love this and want to go further with this, but there's our daughters sitting there" she said pointing to the most beautiful girls on the couch
"Tonight?" i said and gave her a wink
"I'll be looking forward to" she said walked away from my embrace.
