Clara~

I walked into school with the boys, who were constantly joking around with each other. They didn't seem to be too interested in teasing me at the moment. I had discovered that the boys were all my age, and their names were River, James, Alex, and Logan.

They, while being inappropriate and snarky, also seemed like nice boys. Alex was a little rude, but tolerable.

"I'll show you to the office." River said and lightly grabbed my hand. I let him pull me through the school until I noticed people staring. My ankle still hurt pretty bad, but I wasn't paying much attention to it because of everything going on around me. The hall was busy and people were everywhere.

I stopped walking and he turned to look at me. He had a small smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.

"What's wrong? " He asked, but something about the look on his face told me he knew exactly what was wrong. I looked at the ground, suddenly very interested in the tile floors. Even the tiles here looked more expensive than the tiles at my old school.

"People are staring." I mumbled, and he chuckled at me. His hand moved gently to tilt me chin up. He looked into my eyes, and I stared into his blue eyes for just a moment before turning my eyes back down and pulling away from him. Again, he seems to have good intentions, but he needs to learn personal space. I'm not comfortable with people touching me. Especially when others are looking our way.

"Let them stare. I'm just being friendly to a new girl. They can get over it. " I felt my face turn a brighter shade of red and I closed my eyes for a second to try to calm myself. Even though this guy has a lot of maturing left to do, there is something charming about him.

The office was a small room in the front of the building, it had windows all along one of the walls. We walked in and the secretaries looked at us.

"What can we do for you? " A small woman asked me kindly.

"I'm new, my name is Clara Anders."

She smiled at me and handed me my schedule along with an agenda. I had never been a very organized person, so I figured I would only manage to use the agenda for the first week or so before I got tired of it.

"Well, Clara we would normally assign you a student to show you around. I think you already have a fine young man to do it though." She smiled at me and I thanked her. River opened the door for me and we exited the office quickly. The bell rang as we walked away from the office. Late on my first day. Oh well, I guess.

He took my schedule and looked it over, his eyes scanning the classes and teacher names quickly.

"We have three classes together. " He said and handed my schedule back with a smile. I took it from him quickly and looked at it myself.

We walked down the hall together until he stopped in front of a classroom and looked at me expectantly.

"This is your first class, Advanced Chem two, I'm not in this class this hour, but I'll come get you after its over. Okay? " I nodded and smiled at him, then turned and walked carefully into the classroom.

Everyone's eyes turned to me as soon as I walked in. I could feel sweat on the back of my neck as I looked around, the feeling of panic building again. I noticed a desk that was empty in the middle of the room. There was a girl smiling at me from one of the seats next to it. I walked towards the desk hesitantly, trying to walk normal so people wouldn't notice my slight limp and swollen ankle.

"Is this seat taken? " I asked the girl politely.

"Nope." She said with a huge smile. I sat down and dropped my bag to the floor under my desk.

"I'm Victoria, what's your name? " she asked me after a moment.

I turned to look at her and smiled. " Clara. "

"So, I saw you with the boys earlier, Clara. " she said. She sure gets straight to the point. There was something in her eyes, maybe jealousy or curiosity.

I nodded and felt myself blushing. "Yeah I hurt my ankle and they helped me."
