"So, after the game?" Allison asked, as she stood beside Diana by her locker as the blonde went through all of her books in there.
"Yes." Diana nodded. "She always does this. Lydia loves a party, I mean and everytime our team wins, she sees it as a reason to throw a party, so, yes. If we win, there'll be a little something at her house, most likely."
"A little something?" Allison smirked, causing Diana to laugh.
"Fine, a big something." She said. "But big or not, Lydia does know how to throw a good party, so, you're going, right? I mean, I'm pretty sure Scott will be there anyway."
"I... I mean... I don't..."
"Oh, come on, now, Allison... No need to lie to me." Diana smirked, turning to look at her friend, clearly enjoying the way Allison looked down at her feet, clearly embarrassed. "You like him."
"No, I don't." She protested weakly.
"Yeah, sure." Diana rolled her eyes, picking out the book she had been looking for before closing her locker and leaning against it with a smile. "So that probably means you won't mind the fact that he's just over there, then?"
At her words, Allison perked up, looking over at where Diana had nodded her head toward and noticing that, in fact, no one other than Scott McCall was standing just across the hall. Still, the brunette could almost feel the amusement coming out of Diana in waves and Allison still had at least half of her mind to try and not give her the satisfaction of being right. Again. And especially not about Scott.
"No, I don't mind." Allison said, causing Diana to nod, clearly unconvinced.
"Right, that's good I guess, then." She shrugged. "Because he's actually going the other way now."
Again, Allison's head snapped in Scott's direction, but, this time, she didn't even bother hiding her emotions, hitting Diana gently on the arm when the blonde girl laughed.
"I just have to tell him I'll be at the game." Allison defended herself.
"Okay." Diana giggled, still rather amused by the whole thing. "Go on then."
"Stop laughing!"
"Go now or you'll miss your boyfriend."
"He's not my boyfriend." Allison mumbled, causing Diana to roll her eyes.
"Whatever you say." She smirked. "But go now so you can catch you before he slips away."
"I hate you." Allison smiled over at Diana, who just shook her head, unbothered.
"Fine." She said, winking over at Allison before turning around to walk the other way from Scott. "I'll see in History."
***
If there was one thing Diana hated in her life, that was math. Not only was it boring, Diana also usually didn't understand half of the things her teachers tried to say and, as much as Lydia tried to help her out, Diana couldn't help but feel stupid. So, it was no surprise that, with how much she wanted to keep her grades above average all the time, she would usually be seen sitting in the very first desk. It was the best place to see and the best place to hear - but of course, that usually meant she could hear perfectly, not only her teachers, but also, all the students who were called to go over to the blackboard every once in a while.
Which happened to be the case now, with Lydia and Scott standing side by side by the board, solving different equations while sharing a rather whispered conversation and, as much as Diana wanted to not hear it, she couldn't help herself. She was in the very first desk, after all.
