Cold water rapped around her. "No!" She shouted with her mind as she sank lower. "No, bend, bend BEND!"
"Kila!"
Maya groaned as the currents pushed them under farther, farther, the air escaped her lungs-
"Kila!"
She saw Aang and Appa, Aang glowing as her own vision turned a shade of neon blue-
"KILA!"
I was shook awake by Katara. I sat up quickly, gasping for breath. A dream. I told myself. Just a dream.
"Kila, you were moaning in your sleep, are you ok?" Katara asked uncertainly.
"'Tara, I'm juz tier." I said lazily.
"You fell asleep just five minutes ago when we landed. We're you really that tired?" Sokka asked.
"I Juz wanna zleep. Iz too zunny out!" I complained.
"The sun rose almost five hours ago." Aang said.
Maya roared and nudged my head with her's as I got up and used it for support to stand. "Where are we again?" I asked.
"Some island. Haven't figured it out yet." Aang said as he stripped most of his clothes off to swim in the ocean.
"Aang, what are you-" Katara said as Aang jumped.
"I'm gonna ride the coy fish!" He yelled, swimming over. They soon came and Aang hoped on. He was really good at it, too.
That's when the shadow appeared. Katara noticed too. "Aang, get out of there!" She yelled.
Aang saw it and his eyes widened in shock. I heard footsteps nearby. "Katara, help Aang! I don't think this island is safe!" I told her, spinning around to face the forest. I didn't see anything. I could still hear the sharp intakes of breathe.
"Kila, help me!" Katara called. I turned away and ran into the water. She had reached Aang, who had fallen into the water. My stomach churned. He wasn't moving. No, he was ok. I don't know how I knew, but I did.
I reached out with my mind as I lifted Aang from the water. His life force was getting lower and lower. I searched his mind for the problem. I don't know why I was able to do that, but I could. "There's water in his throat, Katara he's not breathing!" I yelled as we swam back to shore.
Once on the beach, Katara water bended the water from his mouth. He coughed and opened his eyes, smiling weakly. "Hey Katara, Kila." He said.
"You fool, never ride that thing again!" I scolded, laughing from relief.
"No, not fun." He agreed. He got up and put his clothes back on. "Can we get something to eat?" He asked.
I opened my mouth to reply, but never got the chance. Sokka yelped behind me. We all spun around. He was gone. Then someone put a bag over my head and hit my head with something hard, knocking me out.
* * *
When I woke up, the bag was pulled off my head. I had been tied to a poll next to Aang. Girls in green battle dresses stood before us.
"Who are you? Where are the men who ambushed us?" Sokka asked, struggling.
"There were no men. We ambushed you." One of them said, presumably the leader. "Now tell us, who are you and what are you doing here?"
Sokka, being a prideful bigmouth said, "Wait a second there's no way a bunch of girls took us down."
"A bunch of girls, huh?" The girl said, grabbing his shirt collar and pulling him toward her. "The unagi is going to eat well tonight."
